

He was born on March 4, 1923, in Paterson, N.J., the son of Caradic and Beatrice (MacGowan) Morgan Sr.
He married Gwendolyn Shrigley on July 22, 1967.
Cred worked as a carpenter through the Hudson Valley Carpenter’s Union, and was associated with Richard Wakeman Construction of Sidney for many years.
He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II, onboard the USS Waxsaw.
Cred had been a Franklin resident since 1969, moving here from Wyckoff, N.J.
He was a member of the Franklin American Legion Post 1689, the Free and Accepted Mason Lodge No. 287 of Wyckoff, N.J., and the Hudson Valley Carpenter’s Union.
He was an avid hunter and outdoorsman.
He is survived by his wife, Gwendolyn Morgan of Franklin; his children, William P. Morgan of Parsippany, N.J., Darlene E. Derby of Holbrook, Ronald J. McCormack of Bigfork, Mont., Jeffrey J. McCormack of Guilford and Linda J. Freudenmann of Franklin. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and four sisters.
He was predeceased by his first wife, Beatrice; a daughter, Patricia Deon; a sister and a brother.
Funeral and committal services will be private and held at the convenience of the family.
