
Hans was born on December 31, 1934 in Wurzburg, Germany the son of Johann A. and Helene (Weisskopf) Fischer. He married Lurline (Betty) Neslund on June 3, 1967.
He immigrated to America at the age of 20, and became a citizen in 1971, and served in the US Army from 1956 to 1958.
For 23 years, Hans was an independent bread distributor.
He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Lurline (Betty) Fischer of Franklin; his daughters, Melissa Joyce, and husband Patrick of Otego, Heidi Fischer-Gregory, and husband Paul of Franklin; his sisters, Else Saalfrank of Germany, Flora Passero and husband, Anthony of Huntsville, AL, and Irmgard Schroter, and husband, Heinz of Germany; his brothers, Walter von Oettingen and wife, Beverly of New Zealand, and Roland von Oettingen of Germany.
Four grandchildren, Dylan Joyce, Derek Joyce, Jacob Gregory, and Abigail Gregory, as well as well as many nieces and nephews, and a very special nephew, John Leavey of Tennessee, who was like a son.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by two sons, John A. Fischer (infant) in 1963, Christopher Fischer in 2009; two brothers, Helmut Fischer and Eberhard, Fischer in Germany; two sisters-in-law, and one brother-in-law.
A service to celebrate the life of Hans Fischer will be held on Tuesday, June 26, 2012 at 11:00 AM in the Kenneth L. Bennett Funeral Home, 425 Main St., Franklin with the Rev Lyle Linder, officiating. Burial will be in the Ouleout Valley Cemetery, Franklin with military honors.
Friends may call one hour prior to the service on Tuesday.
