He was born on May 15, 1930 in Oak Ridge, New Jersey, the son of Charles, Sr. and Lillian (Davenport) Search. He married Evelyn F. Holley on March 27, 1955.
A veteran of the US Army, William was employed for many years as a carpenter by Ed Nichols of Bloomville. He was also previously employed by Delwood Creamery and Oneonta Medical Coaches.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Evelyn; a son, William P. Search of Binghamton; 3 grandchildren, Dane, Jade, and Dylan Search; and a great granddaughter, Gabriella Search.
He was predeceased by a brother, Charles Search, Jr.; 3 sisters, Mary Griffiths, Margaret Search, and Elizabeth Davenport.
A graveside service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 8, 2015 in Croton Union Cemetery, Treadwell, with Rev. Dr. John Hill officiating.
