Alberta Mae Shanafelt, age 91, of Springboro, Ohio was peacefully called to be with her loving husband, Edwin Lee Shanafelt, on Sunday 22 December 2024. Born 26 November 1933 to James and Isabelle Hall in Akron, OH, she was preceded in death by her brothers Harry Hall (Sandi) and James Hall (Sheila).

Alberta spent her entire life in Akron and the past 3½ years living with and being lovingly cared for full-time by her daughter Kim Schaffter (Austin) in Springboro, Ohio with regular support from son David Hall (Claudia) in Tallmadge, OH.

She is also survived by daughters Debbie Dunnerstick, and Holly Fisher, of Akron, OH.

A Special Thank You to Ohio’s Hospice of Butler & Warren Counties for their excellent, professional, and loving care of Alberta over the past few months.

Alberta’s wish was that the family hold an open, inclusive celebration of her life early in 2025 at Donovan Bagnoli Funeral Home, 339 Southwest Ave, Tallmadge, OH 44278 (date TBD after arrangements have been confirmed).

Alberta’s and Edwin’s ashes will be mixed and then interred for eternity next to his parents (Leeser and Rena Shanafelt) at Holy Cross Cemetery, 100 E Waterloo Rd, Akron, OH.
