

Alfred Clinton "Fred" Garcia, age 76, of Middletown, died Wednesday, June 8 after a short battle with cancer. He was born in Elverton, West Virginia, the son of Antonio Garcia and Kathleen (Porter) Garcia. He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Dolores "Lola" Crawford; his brother, Toney "Buddy" Garcia; and a daughter, Freda Lynn. He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Laura (Wells) Garcia; his children, Sharon Bailey and husband Steve; Lita Arnold and husband Virgil; Kenneth Garcia and wife Eugena (Salyers); and Clinton Garcia and wife Kim (Hodson.) He is also survived by his grandchildren Matthew Bailey, Kenneth Garcia II and wife Jenny, Caryl Derbyshire and husband David, Sarah Grubb and husband Chase, Greg Arnold, Andrew Garcia, and Christopher Garcia. He also leaves five great-grandchildren Chloe, Allison, Ryleigh, Gabriella, and Logan, and many more nieces and nephews. Fred also leaves his dear sisters, Janice Randall and husband Richard and Madeline Bell and husband Ken.
Fred retired in 2001 after over 49 years with Aeronca Manufacturing in Middletown, where he worked in plant maintenance. His skill at diagnosing problems and repairing equipment of all types was legendary. He was active for over 28 years with the Ohio Cardinal Cloggers, teaching adults and children and performing all over Southwestern Ohio and Kentucky. He was a member of the Golden Notes ensemble at the Middletown Area Senior Center, where he played bass guitar. He recently took up bowling and enjoyed bowling in leagues and with his family. He also owned A & A TV Service with his late friend, Herb Longman.
There will be a visitation from 1-3 Sunday with services immediately following at Anderson Funeral Home, 1357 E Second St. Franklin.
