Andrew J Kalan

Andrew J Kalan, "Andy" age 90 of Carlisle, Ohio passed away on May 3, 2026 at the Butler Warren Hospice of Ohio, with his loving wife. Born in East Chicago, Indiana on May 12, 1935 he was a son to the late Andrew & Mary (Trimmel) Kalan. Andy was a longtime member of the Masonic Lodge, and was a member of the Germantown First Church of God. In his fellowship he was very active in the church band, as a bassist, and had been a professional musician for most of his life. He played in many bands, and symphonies; music was everything to him. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by a granddaughter Haley Hicks: brother James "Jimmy" Kalan: sister Andrea Garcia.

Survived by his wife of 34 years, Patricia (Hicks) Kalan; whom he married February 14, 1992: children Brian & Jen Kalan; Sabrina Caponigro; Vicki Basore: step-children Kenneth Moore; Katherine & Mark Hart: grandchildren Brian R. Kalan; Ian Andrew Leach; Colin & Cali Orr; Kenneth "Chet" Moore; Danielle Hicks: great-granddaughters Tanya Hicks; Kyleigh Hicks: great-great-granddaughters Aubrey & Jocelynn: siblings Linda Cloe; David & Catherine Kalan: nieces & nephews Julie Davis; Scotty Davis: as well as extended family members, in-laws, and friends.

Friends may call on the family from 12:00 - 1:00 PM on Tuesday, May 12, 2026 at Anderson Funeral Home, 1357 E 2nd St, Franklin, Ohio, 45005. Funeral service will be held at 1PM with Pastor Brandon Hollbrook presiding. Burial to follow at Woodside Cemetery, Middletown, Ohio.
