Born on November 23, 1936, in Grayson, Kentucky, Betty was the daughter of the late Walter and Hattie (Smith) Carroll. She dedicated many years of her professional life to Franklin High School, where she served as a Guidance Counselor Secretary and later in Payroll. Through her work, she quietly but meaningfully supported students, educators, and staff, leaving a lasting impression on the school community.
Betty was preceded in death by her great-granddaughter, Hailey Mae, and her six siblings: Laura Mae Boughner (Paul), Harold “Mugs” Carroll (Nancy), Thelma Marie Nolting (Ernest), Ruben Carroll (Maxine), Raymond Carroll, and Walter Carroll Jr. (Maxine).
She is survived by her beloved husband of 70 years, Jack Prichard; her four children, Debbie (Mark) Jozwiak, Ronald (Paula) Prichard, Rob (Melanie) Prichard, and Kristi (Kevin) Biltz. Her legacy lives on through her nine grandchildren, Kati (Jon) Dickerson, Beth (Dusty) Banks, Zac (Ashley) Prichard, Ashley Jozwiak, Jessica (Evan) Houdieshell, Matthew (Fatima) Prichard, Amber (Scott) Campbell, Maggie Biltz (fiancé Andrew Teigeler), and Tanner Biltz; and her thirteen great-grandchildren: Dassaéve, Emma, Gabe, Abbi, Alli, Stella, Addi, Savannah, Larkyn, Brooks, Jackson, Zendaya, and Cooper.
Betty had a passion for sewing and crafts and was especially known for making clothes for her family. Her creations included prom dresses, bridesmaid dresses, custom outfits, quilts, and doll clothes—each piece made with care and love, many of which became treasured keepsakes. She found peace in walks through the woods and treasured quiet moments spent on the back porch with Doug, watching hummingbirds and squirrels. Her love for her family was unwavering and evident in all she did.
Travel was also a passion, but every vacation she took was centered around time with her children and family. She traveled to Germany, France, Spain, Hawaii, Alaska, out West, and throughout Florida—places she cherished not just for the destinations, but for the memories created together.
She was deeply involved in her children’s lives, helping coach her kids and serving as scorekeeper for baseball and softball while her husband coached. Betty was very active in the Hunter Park Baseball Association and faithfully served in the PTO at Hunter School during her children’s years there. Always willing to lend a hand, she helped paint and build her children’s homes, assisted with new construction projects, moved grandchildren into college, and opened her home to family at a moment’s notice. She also enjoyed playing Bridge and participating in square dancing, valuing both connection and community.
A visitation will be held at Anderson Funeral Home, 1357 E. 2nd Street, Franklin, Ohio 45005, on Saturday, January 31, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. A funeral service will follow at 1:00 p.m., with burial at Woodhill Cemetery.
