Butch was a hardworking man who took great pride in his work and rarely turned down the opportunity to work an extra shift. He dedicated 35 years of his life to Armco Steel and retired from there in 2000. He also owned and worked on a lot of properties throughout the area. He enjoyed family vacations in Myrtle Beach and stopping in the Smoky Mountains on his way home. Butch loved to spend his winters with his wife, Debbie, in Bradenton, Florida and enjoyed time with their friends. He simply loved being by the ocean watching the waves roll in and roll out, walking up and down the beach, listening to live music and checking out the amenities of all the nearby resorts. While at home, he loved family gatherings and grilling at Armco Park, especially when they included homemade ice cream. Whether on vacation or at home, he loved good food and finding a bargain. Whether savoring every bite of a filet mignon from the Houston Inn, devouring a slab of ribs from Montgomery Inn, or taking advantage of the all-you-can-eat buffet, he never passed up a good meal or a good deal.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Darlene Hitte; and brother, Sonny Hitte.
