When I moved to the Ronald McDonald House in 1996, the Hagans were the first family I met. My son, Owen, was age 2 at the time (so was Christina), and we were playing with Abigail and Dawna in the playroom. While the kids played, Dawna told me Christina's story. Being the new person in the House - I was stunned by the magnitude of this story and - in fact - momentarily wondered what I had gotten myself into by coming there, and if I could handle it. In time I learned that there were many more stories to be heard - all so important - but none would stick with me quite the way that first story of Christina has. I remember Dawna saying that they wanted all the time they could have with Christina, and that every day was a gift. My admiration for Dawna has only grown since then. Christina stayed with us often in the early days. I remember playing with her and her sister, and sharing PediaSure recipes with her mom. Over the years, Christina came back to to the Ronald House periodically - for shorter stays than that first one. So I have these real-life snapshots of her growing up - first into a smart spunky little girl, and later into wonderfully brilliant, funny, and resilient young woman - always making every day a gift for her family and friends. She certainly made the world a smarter, better, more beautiful place. Much, much love to your family from ours.

Dawna, so very sorry to hear about Christina's passing. She was very special and I am praying for your family.She was an angel on earth and now an angel in heaven. Love to your family.

I am truly sorry for the loss of your daughter. The death of a child is one of the most painful losses a parent can experience. While I didn't know Christina, the messages below show that she was extremely loved and will be dearly missed. Try to recall those happy memories of the times you shared with her. While at the beginning, they may be painful to do, they can help you heal rather than hurt. Rely on the God of comfort during this difficult time and may his promise of resurrecting those in the memorial tombs to a paradise earth bring your heart hope. May the love and support of family and friends bring you strength during this difficult time.

Dear Hagan Family, It was such an honor to know Chrisi for the few years she was friends with Rebekah. She touched our lives in such a special way. I always enjoyed all the times she came home with Rebekah and we would watch the "Cristi Series" on TV. So thankful for the opportunity that Rebekah had with her. That smile just rests in my mind, when I think of her. Heaven will be a sweeter place, because of her.?

God allowed me the great honor of knowing Chrissy as a student. Her joy in the midst of hardship was a testimony of a heart that had peace and joy from her Father in spite of her circumstances. Thank you God for Chrissy.

I am sorry to see Christina's passing; She asked for serious prayers a few months ago on Facebook and I told her I would be praying and I did. I know the Lord Jesus Christ gathered her into His arms. She fought a good fight. I so enjoyed this precious young woman at Ridgeville years ago.

I am so sorry for your family. May God strengthen you as only he can do. Heaven just got even sweeter. Your daughter lives.

Chrissy was one of my first friends when I came to Dayton Christian in 8th grade. i have a lot of memories of joking around in class and choir with Chrissy to wheeling her around the school when she broke her leg in 8th grade. She was always fun to be around and a great friend in high school as well. She was a very special person and she will be missed greatly. I pray for her family and close friends who are feeling the greatest weight of her loss at this time.

Thank you for being a wonderful friend and camp buddy, I will miss you! I'll miss talking to you, it was always wonderful. Rest In Peace and Paradise, Christina. I'll be praying for your family and friends.

Chrissy was a delight to have as a student. I enjoyed her in Junior High and again in High School Choir. She had a sweet spirit and a "can-do" attitude. Your daughter was a gift to all of us at Dayton Christian. My heart breaks for you right now and we will hold you up in our prayers here at school.

Since the first time when Chrissy had her transplant surgery she has been an inspiration to me with her bravery and determination to fight for life. Now she walks the hills of Heaven running playing and doing things she likes to do without struggling to breathe. You will be missed Chrissy but I'll get to see you again in heaven.
