Dave is survived by his wife of nearly 50 years, Janese (Bishop) Griffin, his daughter Emily (Liberty) Bowman of Franklin, son Gregory (Lindsay Risch) of Germantown and grandchildren Avery, Owen, and Wade Griffin. Dave was close with his siblings: Cathy (Dave) Rupert of New Buffalo, MI, Jenny Tallman of Wasilla, AK, John (Lucia) Griffin of Sacramento, CA, Hope Griffin of Miamisburg and Nina Creager of Carlisle. He is survived by special aunt Mary Louise Cannon of Vandalia. Dave was a wonderful uncle, cousin, friend and neighbor to many.
Dave was born in Middletown, Ohio on September 13, 1953, to John and Alyce (Carlson) Griffin. He is preceded in death by both of his parents and stepfather, Gerald Howell. Dave graduated from Carlisle High School in 1971. He attended United Electronics Institute in Louisville, Kentucky, earning an associate degree in electronics technology in 1973. He worked as an electronics technician at R.L. Drake Company and IAP Research.
Dave’s example reminds us that a simple life lived with a strong connection to family and friends is what truly matters. He had a special talent for being steadfast and true to everyone he loved. Dave liked anything mechanical and working with his hands. He was an avid reader and life-long tinkerer who could build or fix just about anything. Dave enjoyed collecting and driving antique tractors. He always looked forward to attending tractor shows with his friend, Glenn Davis, and his walks and talks with faithful friend, Cameron Daniels.
A visitation for Dave will be held Sunday, June 23, 2024, from 2:00PM to 5:00PM at Anderson Funeral Home, 1357 E. 2nd St., Franklin, Ohio 45005. A funeral service will occur Monday, June 24, 2024, at 10:00 AM at Anderson Funeral Home. Burial will follow at New Jersey Presbyterian Cemetery in Carlisle. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Parkinson’s Foundation (www.parkinson.org) or the Carlisle Lions Club.
