Dorothy Jean Meyer

Dorothy was born on December, 15, 1928 on the family farm on Dunwoody Road in Reily, Ohio to William and Sadie (Bernhardt) Buhi. She graduated Reily High School in 1946 . She attended business college and worked at Black Clawson in Hamilton, Ohio until her marriage. She was married on April 9, 1954 to Lynn Jacob Meyer. She and Lynn lived and worked on the Meyer family farm until 1969. The Meyer family built and opened Pleasant Hill Golf Course in May of 1970 on the original farm site.

She enjoyed golf, gardening, playing cards, bowling and traveling with her husband. She participated in the Monroe Historical Society, was a 4-H leader and attended Circle Meetings at Mt. Pleasant Presbyterian Church. She and Lynn loved to dance.

She was preceded in death by her husband Lynn, her daughter Susan and her parents. Also preceded her in death were 4 brothers: Harmon (Mildred), Howard (Mary), Bill (Norma), and Jim (Pauline) Buhi and 5 sisters: Willa (Art) Decker, Ruth (Cletus) Goble, Hazel Buhi, Helen Buhi and Irma (John) Burkhardt, and in-laws August & Evelyn Meyer, Marcella Cheh, Virginia Griffis, Doris Meyer, and Joann Meyer.

She is survived by her son, Gregory (Tracy Asch) Meyer, and Tracy’s family, her daughters, Crystal Meyer and Denise (Adham) Ahmedov and Adam’s family, and one grandson Devin King. Also survived by her in-laws to whom she was very close, including Jack Griffis, Jim (Phyllis) Meyer, Dave Meyer, Harvey Meyer, Curt (Mary Jo) Meyer and Dennis (Karon) Meyer, and many nieces, nephews and friends.

Funeral service will be Saturday 2:00 pm at the Breitenbach-Anderson Funeral Home, Middletown. Visitation will be Friday 5:00 to 8:00 pm at the funeral home. Burial in Springhill Cemetery.
