Elizabeth McLaughlin

Elizabeth Rose McLaughlin, age 87, of Middletown, died Wednesday, January 25, 2012, at the Garden Manor Retirement Village. She was born August 25, 1924 in West Asheville, North Carolina, the daughter of Oscar Calloway and Vista Follett Calloway. Elizabeth worked as a cafeteria worker for Middletown City Schools and was a member of the University Baptist Church. She is survived by two sons, Richard Bobbie McLaughlin and Michael Teresa McLaughlin both of Middletown; one daughter, Rita Mers Kelly Bill of Crestwood, Kentucky; six grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; three sisters, Pauline Edney of Greenville, South Carolina, Irene Taylor and Judy Cauble both of Asheville, North Carolina; and one brother, Johnny Calloway of Franklin, Ohio. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph McLaughlin on July 30, 1981, and three brothers, Claude, Carl, and Dewey Calloway. Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Friday at the Breitenbach-McCoy-Leffler Funeral Home with Reverend Charles Deglow officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the funeral home. Burial will be at the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Poasttown, Ohio. Memorial contributions may be made to Vitas Hospice.
