Gerald Johnston

JOHNSTON, Gerald Jerry P. Born into life to John and Dossie Johnston, and now has passed from this life on November 25, at age 77, into his everlasting home. Left to cherish his continuing love through memories are: Jo, his wife of 58 years; son Jerry Sharon, son Robert Joseph deceased, daughter Jill Sue Dalton; grandchildren Benjamin Johnston, Brittany Thiel, Bradley Johnston, Caitlyn Dalton and Bailey Johnston. Four great grandchildren: Brooklyn Rachelle Edwards, Trinity Faith Teasley, Wyatt Mason WIlliams, and Laila Grace Teasley. Jerry spent many years as a labor leader championing the rights due blue collar workers and retiring from that service at the age of 75. Jerry's quiet faith and his love of God strengthened and served him well throughout his life. His family wishes to fervently thank: Dorothy Hardin, Hospice of Dayton- Butler Warren County, Wayne Gallagher, and Pastor Claude Robold. A very special acknowledgment of thanks to granddaughter Brittany Thiel, RN for the loving and compassionate care she gave to her grandfather during his lengthy illness. Jerry's wish for a private service close family members only will be conducted at New Covenant Church with Pastor Randy Montgomery officiating on Monday, December 1, 2014.
