Harold Funk

Harold "Dick" Funk, age 93, of Kettering, OH; went to be with his late wife of 73 years Grace Funk. Dick was born in Lebanon, OH on March 26, 1918 to Everett and Ida (McCandless) Funk. His step father Edwin Sherwood raised him from an early age. He was employed for 20 years with Mokery Tesmer in Middletown and retired as superintendent in 1980 from Dayton Fabricated Steel. Dick was an avid fisherman and hunter. Dick was preceded in death by his wife Grace and granddaughter Pamela Long Zellmer. He is survived by 2 children Kay(Nick) Schoenberger and Richard (Sharon) Funk; grandchildren Paula Long Bomgardner, Rick Long, William Funk, Bradley Funk, and 4 great grandchildren Dustin and Nathan Long, Megan and Gunnar Bomgardner; and many nieces and nephews along with numerous friends. Funeral services are Friday September 23, 2011 at 1pm at Anderson Funeral Home 1357 E. 2nd St Franklin, OH with Rev. Rick Ruble officiating. Burial will be in Springboro Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday from 11am until the time of the service at the funeral home. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Otterbein Home and Hospice for their loving care.
