I know your hearts must be breaking...I just want you all to know I love you!

Herb has been a second father to me in these 28 years I have been with the family. I will never forget how he patiently taught me how to make gravy and showed me and Bo how to plant a garden. I loved his breakfasts when we would come up to see Mona and Herb, you definitely would not go away hungry!!!!! Those lessons I will never forget, and will carry them with me forever. I love and miss you very much.

Grandpa, my wonderful, amazing, funny, warmed hearted papaw! You meant the world to me. As I was growing up as a kid I always remember sitting on your lap and bouncing me up and down singing "dang dang da dang dang dang" you also did it with my kids! Tarina loved you as much as you loved her your whole world would light up when we came to see you. I will never forget those moments. When I was little I would call you and tell you I wanted to go get ice cream and here you came right then and me and you went everyday to get an oreo mcflurry from McDonalds. We would laugh and talk and sit there an eat ice cream. As I sit here and think about all the memories that we have together my heart gets weak because I have so many and I wont be able to share anymore with you. I love you so much papaw I miss you!! I have always had you in my life you never missed anything. Ill never forgot our garden days at my house I would fertilize and you would plow. You are the only person in this whole world who called me Mantha. I remember coming to see you in my new car that I just bought you smiled at me and told me how proud you was of me, you told me you would take a ride with me in it later and now that I don't have that later with you that's what I think about. You have watched me grow into a woman and taught me how to be respectful and how to love! I sat in the living room with you just a few weeks ago and sat and talked to you right after I got off work, you said to me mantha your doing really good, you have a nice job a nice car and you were so happy for me that I was just now starting to figure things out. ill never forget those words, I'm so glad you got to see me get my life together and was close to all of my kids that you loved so much. I would come in to pick up Takoda and youd be sitting there holding him. You made me a list to go to krogers and the list was so long hehe I just laughed you said well I need that stuff. when I got back you gave me a hug and a kiss told me you loved me and thanked me that was really the last conversation that we had together. I love you papaw! You are my everything and you will always be in my heart. I will miss you so much!

I always considered Herb my second dad. He has welcomed me with opened arms in the family and always told me he loved me.  He was a kind hearted man who loved his family more than anything. He made a huge impact on my life and others who knew him. I’m going to miss your kind heart, funny sense of humor, and especially just seeing you. I know you will still be taking care of all of us.

As I sit in my father's chair at the kitchen table and write this letter, I can feel my Dad's presence. He gave me the greatest gift a father can give a son. He believed in me. He taught me how to be a man and how to live my life with honor. He taught me that your word is your bond.  He showed me how to work with my hands and how to be a great mechanic. I owe my passion for motorcycles and cars to him. When I was young and thought about joining the military (Air Force), Dad told me to do what I wanted to do. It's your life, he said.  So I headed off into the wild blue yonder and it changed my life. Thank you, Dad! I wouldn't be where I am today if it wasn't for my family.  I loved spending time with my Dad and I will miss our road trips together. 

Dad was the hardest working man I know and he led by example.  Dad, you will always be my hero.

My daddy what can I say, he was a wonderful Dad.  We spent so much time together, I will never forget all of our trips together to doctor appointments.  We had so much fun.  All the times spent in the garden, he always came to my house just to visit me I would come downstairs and he would be sitting in the kitchen.  He loved hanging in the garage with Dave.  In the summer he would sit outside on the swing and watch the kids play.  I will miss all of that.  I will miss him calling me when he needed something and would say you need to get up here and I would go.  Every time I would go visit him, he would be sitting in his big chair, he would smile.  He loved when family came to visit.  My heart is broken and it will be so hard to go threw life without my Daddy.  I love you Dad and will miss you more than anything but you are with Matt and Justin now.

Dear Papaw, you are amazing is all I can say.  All the memories and laughs we had will always be cherished in my heart.  You were and always will be a hero to me.  You overcame any obstacle thrown at you. I remember every time you were at the hospital you would bounce back and come home.  I have lots of memories like your big clock that couldn't go any where when Mamaw rearranged the living room, you found a place for it and I always loved that clock.  I also remember how every time I would come over you would say "hey baby" and even at the hospital when no one could understand you, I did, you would say it with a huge smile looking at me.  You carried me through tough times.  Remember the toy nose from the gift shop that said it knew all.  When Mamaw would ask if you was coming home it would say "absolutely" and you would.  When you came home you would go in the livingroom and watch tv, the Andy Griffin Show or Gunsmoke and I would watch it with you and I liked it.  I even got into it.  In the mornings I would always see you go by the house on your way to McDonalds and you would drive to my house about everyday.  I prayed for you and I would say "God someone passes away everyday but that is not going to be my Papaw not today please let him come home because we all love him and let him be ok and you would be.  Now Papaw your ok in Heaven with no more pain, no more tubes, no more tears, and no more trips back n forth to the hospital.  Your better now.  I miss you more and more each day but I know your ok up there in Heaven with my Dad and I will pray for you every night and I will read the poem I read to you at the hospital.  That will be our special thing and I will hold the token it came with to my heart each night when I pray.  Papaw I will miss you but I know you are in the best place you can be and I love you so much I will feel very safe every night and day knowing I have two Guardian Angels watching over me each day.

My daddy was the best dad ever he was a hard worker,loved his family, he loved to plant a garden every summer. He always had to be doing something he never like to just sit around he had to be going. He would head to McDonald’s a few times a week every morning to sit with all his buddies and talk. I would be heading to work and drive by the house and if his truck wasn’t there I knew he was a McDonald’s. I remember my dad riding his bike he would ride it all over he would get on it and come visit me and sit and talk about everything mostly  He always ask me when we going to the beach he loved going to the beach and I would tell him let’s go and he would say I’m ready. I have so many memories of my dad I will cherish every single one of them. My heart may be shattered and there will always be a piece that is missing because my dad is not here. But i have a guardian Angel watching over me my daddy who I will miss him every minute, of every hour and every day. I love you dad but I know you are not sick anymore and you are looking down on us. Rob loved you like a dad he will miss you every day.
