

Imogene Johnson, age 86, of Springboro, Ohio, passed away peacefully into the arms of Jesus, Monday, November 17, 2014 at Sycamore Medical Center. She was born November 15, 1928 in Evarts, Kentucky the daughter of the late John and Sarah (Hamblin) Mason. Imogene was formerly employed as the first female lab technician with General Motors Inland in Dayton, for 30 years and retired in 1988. She attended Springboro Baptist Church. Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Rev. Archie Johnson; 2 sisters Bonnie Pheanis and Cleta Sue Hoover; and 4 precious great-grandbabies, Samuel, Alexander, Lacey and Jerilyn Engledow. Imogene is survived by her son, Archie Stephen (Sandy) Johnson; five daughters, Linda (Bill) Haise, Nancy (Rick) Engledow, Cathy Compton, Susan Stephens, Lori (Rick) Mowery; nine grandsons, Steve (Beth) Haise, Peter (Susan) Haise, Christopher (Emily) Haise, Bill (Karen) Engledow, Bryan (Tiffany) Engledow, Shane (Melissa) Stephens, Andrew Johnson, Zachary Johnson, Jonathon (Cierra) Butler; four granddaughters, Carly (Shane) Wade, Haley Gabori, Sara (Michael) Lee, Kelsea (Dusty Lawson) Butler; 25 great-grandchildren; two adopted daughters, Terri Bennett, Cindy Bunch; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends who adored her. Funeral service will be Saturday, November 22, 2014 at 1:00 pm at Springboro Baptist Church, 125 East Mill Street, Springboro, Ohio, with Pastor Connie Hancock officiating. Visitation will be from 11:00 am until the time of service. Burial will be in Springboro Cemetery. The family would like to thank the staff of Sycamore Medical Center ICU for their excellent care and compassion throughout Imogene's stay. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Salvation Army.
