James Emery Deaton

James Emery Deaton, age 90 of Middletown, Ohio passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 28, 2025 at 11:05 AM at Arlington Point Nursing Home, Middletown, Ohio. Born in Blue Diamond, KY on October 4, 1934 he was a son to the late Daniel & Pruda (Engle) Deaton. James was a proud United States Army Veteran, having served from 1952-1954. He was a welder for GE Aircraft for many years before retiring. James was a wonderful Papaw, and his grandchildren were the sunshine of his life. He was always there for anyone who needed anything that he could help out with, he truly had a heart of gold. James will be deeply missed by all who knew him. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his son Gary Deaton, sisters Lou and Virgie, brothers Shafter, Vernon and Virgil.

Survived by his wife Lorene Deaton: daughter Sandy & Joe Eaton: grandchildren James & Danielle Landers; Kyle & Tiffany Eaton; Kara & Joe Gerard: great-grandchildren Lizzy; Leila; Vickie; Ryan; Logan; Bradley; Grayson: as well as many nieces and nephews, family members and friends.

Friends may call on the family from 11:00 AM- 12:00 PM on Friday, February 7, 2025 at the Anderson Funeral Home, Franklin, Ohio. Funeral to follow at noon with Pastor Tommie James presiding.
