James M. Henry age 91 of Carlisle, Ohio passed away on Sunday October 2, 2022 at his residence. He was born in Humphrey County, TN on April, 28 1931 to the late Seawright and Maxine Henry (nee Beasley).
Henry graduated high school in Dickson, Tennessee then joined the United States Air Force and was honorably discharged after ten years of service, serving during the Korean Conflict and Vietnam. After serving in the Air Force, Henry went to work at Pollock Paper Company, later to be known as St. Regis Paper Company, the finally changed to Miami Packaging, where Henry retired after 30 years. Henry played ball all of his life, playing for the Wright Patterson Air Force Base team, as well as many leagues in Franklin, and Miamisburg, with his last team being sponsored by Anderson Funeral Home. He even played for a senior team until he was 80. He belonged to the American Legion in Franklin for over 40 years.
Henry was preceded in death by his parents, son, Donald Kuhn II; and great granddaughter, Destiny Davidson.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years Gail Henry (nee Hyer) of Carlisle; daughter, Diana Maness of West Carrollton; grandchildren, Donie (Chelsea) Maness of Columbus; Jamie (Matthew) Maness, of West Palm, Florida, Amy (Joe) Prater of Middletown; great grandchildren, Avett Maness of Columbus, Courtney Wallace od Middletown, Austin Davidson of Cincinnati; great-great grandchildren, Madison and Mia Brown both of Middletown, and Raiden Davidson of Cincinnati; daughter in law, Lisa (Danny) Williams of Middletown; as well as many family and friends. The Henry family would like to give a special thanks to Hospice Care of Middletown and his nurse Shelby Clark.
Visitation will be on Thursday, October 6, 2022 from 11:00 – 1:00 pm at Anderson Funeral Home, 1357 East Second Street Franklin, Ohio 45005. Funeral service will immediately follow at 1:00 pm with Chuck Wolfinbarger officiating. Burial will take place at Woodhill Cemetery.
Memorial may be made in Henry’s name to Hospice Care of Middletown, or the New Vine Church of Franklin.
