Janice Rae Jordan

Janice loved her family and thrived on being the caretaker. Generous in spirit: if she had it, she would give it. She provided her children and grandchildren with life lessons, unforgettable experiences, and a special kind of joy. Jan was funny, sarcastic and had a smile that would light up a room. She had an adventurous spirit and love to travel, especially on road trips. Her favorite place was the beach, especially Fort Myers and Sanibel Island. Jan was an avid bowler and enjoyed tending her outside gardens. Shopping to find a bargain and getting pedicures with her daughters and granddaughters was a favorite bonding experience. Eating Outback with her son was a favorite tradition at birthdays.

"Doppler Jan" loved to watch the Weather Channel and was always ready to provide you with the report. Janice was a stay at home Mom for many years, however when she worked outside the home she worked and retired from JC Penney after 30 years, and she also taught religious education for 20 years.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 42 years Robert J. Jordan who died in 2014; her sister, Debbie Martter; and her nephew, Matthew Holowecky.

Janice is survived by her daughters, Jennifer (Rick) Kellerman, Victoria, (Martin) Powers, and Colleen Jordan; son, Robert C. (Samantha) Jordan; grandchildren, Matthew, Elliott, Avery, Ryan, Jack, Michael, Oliver, Sofia, and Johnathan; sisters, Joanne (Mark) Holowecky, Lynne (Terry) Haynal, Shannon (Martin) Lehman, and Catherine Jordan; brothers, Robert (Mary) Carney, Timothy (Pat) Carney, Christopher (Peggy) Jordan, and Thomas (Erin) Jordan; as well as many extended family members, and friends.

A private beach service will held for Janice by the family in the future.

May good and faithful friends be yours, wherever you may roam. May the road rise up to meet you. May the wind be always at your back. May the sunshine warm upon your face, the rains fall soft upon your fields, and, until we meet again, may God hold you in the palm of his hand.
