Katharine Powell

Katharine (Wilson) Powell of Franklin, Ohio passed away in her home on June 7, 2012. She was born in Jackson County, Kentucky on September 11, 1929 to Alson Wilson and Ninnie (Isaacs) Wilson. She was preceded in death by her parents, her step father John Pearson, her husband Lester Powell, her infant son Lester Powell Jr., her son David Powell, and three brothers: Richard Pearson, Harril Pearson, and Mason Pearson. She is survived by 4 children: Donald (Linda) Powell of Germantown, OH; Brenda (Robert) Rockwood of Phoenix, AZ; Georgia (Steve) Daum of Centerville, OH; and Sheila (Scott) Alspaugh of Franklin, OH. Mrs. Powell is survived by 3 siblings: Willie Wilson of West Alexandria, OH; Boyd Pearson of Berea, KY; and Freda Carl of Berea, KY. Katharine is also survived by 8 grandchildren: John Powell, Jennifer Orender, Shannon Miller, Rob Powell, Dennis Orender, Jason Powell, Andria Breese, Justin Rockwood and 13 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild and her beloved Aunt Cynthia Isaacs of Sprinboro, OH. Finally she is survived by her dog and cat; two of many pets she loved during her life. She was an active member of the Pentecostal Lighthouse church in Franklin, OH.

Visitation will be Monday 5 - 8 pm to at Anderson Funeral Home, 1357 E. 2nd.Franklin. The funeral service will begin the following morning at 10:00 am. Burial will be at Woodhill Cemetery in Franklin. The family would like to thank Hospice of Warren and Butler County for their gracious care of Katharine during recent weeks.
