

Kenneth “Kenny” Banks, age 82, of Franklin, Ohio passed away on February 21st, 2026. Born to the late Montgomery Banks and Cloie Kirby, Kenny was known for his kind heart, steady presence, and the quiet patience he offered to everyone he met.
A proud veteran, Kenny served his country in the United States Army before embarking on a long and dedicated career in the paper industry. He spent 42 years at Franklin Boxboard/Stone Container, where his work ethic was well-regarded by those who worked alongside him.
Kenny’s life was defined by his connections to others and his love for adventure. He was a long-standing trustee at the Fraternal Order of Eagles (F.O.E.) #2309 in Franklin, Ohio. serving for the last 19 years. Kenny was a proud brother of the Eastern Star No.55 Masonic Lodge of Franklin. An amateur radio enthusiast, he spent countless hours talking with people around the world, creating bonds that spanned continents.
When he wasn’t on the air, Kenny could be found outdoors—gardening, metal detecting with his family, or traveling. He cherished camping trips and cruises with his friends, and was a fixture at bluegrass festivals and concerts. These trips, filled with laughter and song, created the many stories he loved to share with friends and family.
Kenny’s greatest legacy is his family. He is survived by his children: Angela (Shane) Hurt, Larry Banks, and Jeff Banks; dear sister-in law and friend, Marcia (Tim) Wilson: his brother Dexter (Laura) Banks; a special nephew, Brian Alexander; and niece, Becky Jones. He also leaves behind many cherished grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Special friends Wendell Whitt and L.J. Adams.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Montgomery and Cloie; his brother, Dwight Banks; and his sister, Anna Mae. He will be forever loved and deeply missed.
Friends may call on the family from 5:00 PM- 7:00 PM on Thursday, April 2, 2026 at the Anderson Funeral Home, 1357 E 2nd St, Franklin, Ohio 45005. A funeral service will be held on Friday, April 3, 2026 at 10:00 AM, with a Masonic Service starting at 10 AM by the Franklin Masonic Lodge.
