Kenneth is preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Claire Ellen Ward. He is survived by his loving wife and son, Kendra Parker and K. Chance Humphrey.
Kenneth was an Army Veteran. He served bravely in the Vietnam War, and was a Prisoner of War during a portion of his time in the service. After his time in the military, Kenneth was a musician, traveling the world and playing with many big name musical acts. Later, he came back to Ohio and brought his love of music to the students of Franklin High School, where he taught percussion. He had an impact on countless students during his teaching career, and he loved every one of them.
His son, Chance, memorialized Kenneth the best:
Yesterday my Pops passed away, peacefully at home, in the place he wanted to be, surrounded by his family, dogs, and cats. If you knew him, you know what we’re missing today. Nobody expressed love, humor, and warmth as readily & freely as Pops. We’ll miss his sudden, gut-busting roars of laughter, his unexpected dance moves, his insistence that every other meal he ate was “the best meal of his life.” The guy was brilliant, passionate, and truly, genuinely one-of-a-kind. It’s staggering how many people I’ve had tell me they loved my Dad throughout the years - and it was never lost on me that I got lucky to be his son, and to share all the love he had to give. He leaves a hole too vast & too unique to be filled, but there’s zero doubt that he loved endlessly & was endlessly loved.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.andersonfunerals-franklin.com for the Humphrey family.
