

Born March 11, 1937 in Thorn Hill, TN to Lonnie and Sarah (Nervie) Wolfenbarger, Lucille moved to Franklin following graduation and was employed at NCR of Dayton and Woody's Restaurant in West Carrollton.
She fell in love and was married 55 yrs to Carl Ray Carpenter of Franklin, who preceded her in death on January 24, 2017.
Surviving are her son, Dr. Gregory Carpenter and wife Teresa of Hamilton and children Chandra Gabbard, Sasha VanCleve and Kelly VanCleve; daughter Tammy Mullins, husband Joe and grandchildren Daniel Paul and Sarah Lynn Mullins of Cedarville; sister Pauline Wolfenbarger of Morristown, TN; brother Rev. RT Wolfenbarger and his wife Diana of Franklin; brother-in-law Gary J. Carpenter, who was like a son to 'Mouse', wife Debbie and their children Jamie Hatcher, Becky Hollon, Lisa Shane, Leslie Carpenter, and David Carpenter and their families; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends who will treasure her memory.
In addition to her parents and her husband, Lucille was preceded in death by her grandchild Kelly Lynn Mullins; brothers Robert, Donald and Rev. Clarence Wolfenbarger of Thorn Hill, TN; and sisters Leo Holt of Thorn Hill, Geneva Lamb of Bean Station, TN, Dexter Dalton and Gladys Asberry of Franklin.
Lucille enjoyed playing and winning at Yahtzee and Scrabble, hunting mushrooms in the spring and digging ginseng in the fall "down home" on her beloved Clinch Mountain.
She was a member of Cedar Springs Missionary Baptist Church of Thorn Hill, TN.
Visitation will be Friday, September 29 from 6-8pm at Anderson Funeral Home, 40 North Main Street, Springboro, Ohio.
Graveside service will be 1pm Saturday, September 30, 2017 at Woodhill Cemetery, 6228 Hamilton-Middletown Rd., Franklin with Rev. Gary Carpenter and Tom Wolfenbarger officiating.
The family would like to sincerely thank Dr. Rick Chamberlain, Julia Nenni RN, Lori Clements, LSW and all the amazing staff at Hospice Care of Middletown, the love, support and sacrifice of RT, Diana and niece Judy Beckler - all of whom allowed Lucille to live her last months in her own home, as she wished.
