

Marie was born to William Virgil and Laura Bessie Hall on November 9, 1930 in Roanoke, Virginia. She was preceded in death by a brother and her parents. She is survived by her husband of 61 years, William Wimmer. Marie worked for the C & P Telephone Company and the FBI in Washington DC before marrying her Navy man. Marie and Bill were wed in 1952 and were blessed by five children over the next 13 years. Left behind to cherish her memory are their beloved children, Laura and husband Emmett (VA), Mark and wife Sandy (NY), Robert (SC), Alan, Michael and three beloved grandchildren; Maggie Mae, Alison Marie and Adam Owen. She is also survived by 2 brothers, Carleton Hall (MN) and Richard Hall (VA). Also left behind are a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. Marie graduated from Jefferson High School in Roanoke, Virginia. In addition to being a full time mother and homemaker, Marie worked as a switchboard operator at St. Luke's Hospital, the law firm Evans, Sevran, Bankert and Peat in Utica, NY and for many years at Mohawk Valley Community College. Marie was always active in volunteer work with the Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts, PTA and Church. She also was the first woman to serve on the board of the Boy Scouts in upstate New York. After moving to Springboro, Ohio in 1980, Marie continued her lifelong commitment to volunteer service with the Arboretum, the Chamber of Commerce, Mothers Club, City of Springboro, Springboro Historical Society and Community Blood Center. Marie was an active member of the Jaycettes in New York and the Springboro Lions Club for over 15 years. Marie and Bill traveled the country for Navy reunions, golf outings, family reunions and more. They were lifelong members of the United Methodist Church. A Memorial Service of Celebration of Marie's life will be held Saturday, March 15 at 10:00 AM at Anderson Funeral Home, 40 North Main Street, Springboro. Visitation will be Friday, March 14, 2014 from 4:00 to 7:00 pm at the funeral home. The family asks that you join them Saturday for a reception following the Memorial Service of Celebration at the Anderson Life Celebration Center, 360 Commerce Center Drive, Franklin, Ohio.
