Matt was my best friend growing up before I left for the Army and It hurts that we ever grew apart... I'm gonna miss him and all the good times we had together... My condolences go out to Don, Carla Corey and the rest of the family.

I commented on how he still had the 'little boy smile' that could melt your heart. You raised a very kind and loving young man, and I know you'll always be proud of him. Hello, I was Matt's baseball coach along w/Ray Womack in 2000-2002 at EKRC. What a great kid, what a great baseball player! Cannot believe this has happened. He will be met in heaven by my mom, Juanita, who was the all time scorekeeper for our games, and just loved Matt. He and other players came to her funeral in 2006. Please know that you raised a great, well mannered, respectful, focused kid. That is what I always saw in him. Our heartfelt sympathy is extended to your family. Darell, Molly, Bryan & Kevin Butts.

Bro i miss you so much already. I want you to know I'm here for support for your family and friends. God had a plan for you and in the short stay you had in this greater picture you did a lot with it. Matt you did so much for me, and you were a true friend throughout everything. I'm proud to say you are more than a friend to me. You will be missed. And through this all we know you are up there dancing with angels all over the gold streets of heaven. You are finally free bro, free from everything you went through. I'm sad to see you go; but in my heart I'm so happy you no longer have to fight the battle of addiction. I wish I could have seen you one last time, but I know one day I will see you again. I Love You Bro! Take it easy up there and relax.

My heart sank when I heard the news of Matthew passing. What a bright souled individual the world has lost. We always had a blast when we were together, laughing and smiling non stop. God took a wonderful guy and he will always be missed, never forgotten and thought of often. My heart and prayers go out to his Family and son Chase. RIP Matthew your in a much better place now. Matt, i dont know where to begin brother, i cant really belive that your going. All the ups n downs we been thrue, u were my partener, brother and best freind. i aint ready to say goodbye, we been round the world n back a million times, huh. I know your happy now though. Watch over ur little neice or nephew about to come. Help me be the dad i can be,I'll never forget you, you saved my life 8 years ago, i just wish i could have returned the favor. I have so many memories of Matt from school. I'm still in shock. He was taken too soon from all of us. I hope he's in a better place & watching down on all of us now. Rest in peace.

I will never forget Matt as long as I live. He was ready to play baseball or football up at state farm whenever anyone felt like it. He was always there for ya if ya needed him and was truly a good hearted man. No matter what life threw at him he would always fight back and try to overcome it. He has left us down here on earth with a large whole that may never be filled. He was a great soul and will be greatly missed by all that new him. Rest in peace my friend, we shall meet again.

I am so sorry to hear about this loss. Matt was a good guy from what i remember from highschool. I still have the pictures from his senior prom. Him and kendra and carl and i went as a group. Good times.
