

Paul is preceded in death by his parents, Mary and Hartzel Shiveley, son-in-law Greg Schneider, granddaughter’s Danielle & Jamie Schneider, siblings Steven Shiveley, Theresa Titus, Priscilla Gustin & Janet Whitt.
Paul is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Barbara “Gaye” Shiveley; daughters, Donna Schneider, Cindy (Mike) Christian and Denise (Brent Bartley) Shiveley-Gum. Grandchildren Nathan (Jennifer) Biggs, Emily Biggs, Jordan (Stephanie) Biggs, Courtney (Andy Shepherd) Gum, Melissa (Andrew) Schwieterman, Curtis (Stephanie Bohl) Gum and 14 great-grandchildren. Paul is also survived by his siblings, Judy Flynn, Margaret Shiveley, Rita (Bob) McDonald, Michael Shiveley, Angie Shiveley, David (Karen) Shiveley and Elisa (Kelley) Gill.
Paul worked many years as a Rotogravure pressman before changing professions, due to plant closures, and retired from Montgomery County Water Services as a laborer.
Paul was a proud Veteran of the United States Marine Corps. While serving in the 3rd Tank Battalion, 3rd Marine Division he was stationed in Okinawa, Japan & Camp Fuji before being honorably discharged.
Paul loved his family and was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. He was an extremely talented craftsman and was the first person who was called when something needed fixed. Paul had a wonderful personality, a large laugh and enjoyed a good joke, watching the Cleveland Browns, Notre Dame & Penn State football, tinkering in his workshop, playing cards and fishing in Michigan with friends.
The family would like to give special thanks to the Hospice doctors and nurses who took such wonderful care of Paul while he was there and to dear friend, Jeannie Trace and nephews, James, Chris & Jeff Brookshire and Gerry, Matt & Ted Gustin. It took a village and you were ours.
A Celebration of Life will be 2pm Saturday July 26, 2025 at the Anderson Funeral Home 1357 E 2nd St Franklin, OH with Chaplain Terry Harding officiting. Visitation will be 1 hour prior to the service with military honors given at 2pm.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Hospice of Butler Warren County.
