Robert D. Atkins, age 72, of Franklin, Ohio, died Friday February 16, 2018 at University of Cincinnati Medical Center. He was born in Hope Mills, North Carolina on April 26, 1945 to Robert D. and Ruby (Anderson) Atkins. Robert served in the US Army during the Vietnam War receiving the Purple Heart. He was employed with General Motors for 35 years and retired in 1995. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother Gerald Atkins. Robert is survived by his wife of 54 years, Sharon Atkins; a daughter Tanya (Allen) Donathan; 2 grandchildren, Loryn and Garrett Bryson; a brother, Larry (Nora) Atkins; a sister, Sylvia Elzerman; and several nieces and nephews. A Celebration of Life is 5:00 pm Tuesday February 20, 2018 at Anderson Life Celebration Center 360 Commerce Park Drive Franklin, Ohio with Celebrant Dan Flory officiating.
