Robert “Bob” Ira Hampson Jr., of West Chester, Ohio, passed away peacefully on January 27, 2026. He was born on May 9, 1946, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, to the late Robert Ira Hampson Sr. and Mary Hampson (Daerr).
Bob was a devoted Jehovah’s Witness whose faith guided his life and shaped the way he treated others—with kindness, humility, and quiet strength. He found great joy in God’s creation and loved spending time outdoors, especially when he had a camera in hand. Photography was a favorite passion, and he was particularly drawn to capturing the beauty and serenity of lighthouses.
Bob worked for U.S. Steel, where he was known for his strong work ethic and dedication. Above all, he was a family man who deeply loved those closest to him and valued time spent together.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his sisters, Roberta “Becky” Muic and Joyce Shipley.
Bob is lovingly remembered by his wife, Margie “Marcie” Hampson (Zachary); his daughter, Molly (Jordan) Paxton; his son, Dan Hampson; his step-daughter, Kassie Zachary; his grandchildren, Haley (Jacob), Jenna (Kyle), and Dylan; his great-granddaughters, Lauren and Kendall; his brother, William “Bill” Hampson; as well as his cherished church family, extended family, and many friends.
Bob will be remembered for his gentle spirit, steady faith, and the quiet way he made the world around him a little better. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
