I knew Tob only on facebook.  I enjoyed his choice of music, his humor (even thogh I am twice his age..and more)  we often took opposite and someties the same side in political debates...always well thought-out points.  I thoroughly enjoyed his friendship and I will miss him.  May God comfort you and give you strength for the days ahead.

There are no words that could possibly articulate the loss the world suffered when Rob passed away last weekend. Over the last few years he became one of my closest friends. He was a kind soul who despite his own struggles always made time to be a champion for the weak and disenfranchised. From teaching inner-city kids how to play chess on the weekends, gathering supplies for the local homeless in the winter, to just being an unconditional friend he is someone who lived their values every day. He was a brave soul who was not afraid to be himself even in a world that values conformity. I cannot express how grateful I am that we reconnected through social media. Even in this hectic world, in this last year we prioritized hanging out in person the last few months. At times, his friendship was the glue that held me together during some of my most challenging times. Now I must forge ahead without his presence but hope to embody his passion and dedication into the world. With my heartfelt condolences to his family, I will end with a quote.

My daughter and I are shocked and deeply saddened by Rob's passing, with our sincere condolences extended to his family.

Rob and I became fast friends a few years ago, with socio-political issues sparking the relationship initially. That rapidly led to a much more personal connection. I was honored by the trust Rob placed in me, which enabled him to share the most private aspects of his life, past & present. He sought my insights and advice on a myriad of situations and issues that confronted him and I was flattered and touched by the "older, wiser Big Sister" role he bestowed upon me. But, when I found myself coping with life-altering medical issues and a devastating separation and divorce following a long-term marriage, Rob assumed the role of protector, shoulder-to-cry-on and all 'round cheering section. He was so generous of spirit, kind & compassionate - constantly checking in to see how I was faring.  When my spirits were at low ebb, he was profuse with praise for what he perceived as my positive and admirable attributes, which was instrumental in restoring my battered self-confidence. Being made aware that my daughter, who is close to his age, is an extremely quiet introvert, Rob reached out to her and she was immediately impressed by his very sweet nature and kindness.  I've been extremely busy the past few months with building a post-divorce life of my own, so hadn't had much contact with Rob recently, which I profoundly regret. I assured him that once I had my life more in order, we'd pick up where we left off - never imagining that he'd no longer be with us. I will be forever grateful for the friendship we shared and will miss him the rest of my days. 

I would like his parents to know that his love, respect for and admiration of them was boundless and he had no reservations about expressing it. He frequently spoke of how fortunate he was to have parents who loved and supported him so faithfully and unconditionally. Like all of us, Rob regretted some of the choices he'd made in life and was so appreciative of being blessed with parents who embraced him through thick and thin and inspired him to learn, grow and become a wiser, better man with each passing day. Mr. & Mrs. Kaminski, you raised a fine man and those of us whose lives he touched were the beneficiaries of what you instilled in him. Thank you. Please rest assured that as few as his years were, Rob made his mark upon the lives of many and will never be forgotten.  My heart goes out to you.

I have so many incredible memories of Rob. We started a conversation at school the beginning of my Junior year (his Senior year) that conversation didn't stop for 13 years. He had an incredible spirit and an amazing heart.  He loved deeply and was fiercely loyal. 

I will never forget our drives eating junk food with music playing in the background as we talked the day into night. 

I will never forget our long political and ethics debates. 

I will never forget our 2am conversations. 

I will never forget his laugh or his full smile that went to his ears and eyes. 

I will never forget his strong spirit. 

I could never forget our friendship. 

To his parents- Thank you for raising such an incredible son. He was truly amazing. Thank you.

Rob and I were best friends for many years since junior high. We had a lot of fun together through the years. He was one of the smartest people I had ever met. I remember struggling in English class in high school and he taught me to be a better writer. I remember getting a 100% after that. That was Rob. He was always happy to help anyone out with just about anything. I remember running cross country with him and convincing him to join the wrestling team. Those were good times. We used to walk to Danbarry Cinemas in the summer. One time he walked all the way from Springboro to my house so we could hang out. 

To Rob's Parents,

Thank you for taking me on vacation to Gatlinburg. I remember that vacation to this day. It was a memorable experience. I think I practically lived at your house almost every summer for years. I am truly sorry for your loss and the whole family is in my prayers. He was like a brother to me and he will be missed greatly.

Rob was a nephew to my wife and I and cousin to my two sons. He was a very gentle, kind and caring soul with a hearty, contagious laugh and a thirst for knowledge and debate.
We admired the relationship that Rob had with my brother Bob and sister-in-law Kathy and enjoyed the tales they told from their trips and adventures around the world.
It was always good to see them and share time together.
We pray to God for Rob's soul and for for strength and courage for Bob and Kathy.
Rob, we will miss you and treasure your memory, may you rest in peace!

I met Rob in highschool. Ever since he has been the best friend i ever had.

Rob and I went back to Purdue days. He was so full of life and made me laugh so often. When he moved back to Ohio we lost touch for a while but he was always in my thoughts. He contacted me after he had spent some time cleaning up and we were talking about getting together at some point. I wish I could have made it out there. I wish I could make it now. I know that he will always be with us all and I hope that we never forget him and everything he brought into all our lives. I will miss him.

He was my best friend of 12 years. We didn't hang out in person enough but we still maintained closeness. He was one of two people who truly understood me. I love you Rob. I'm scared to death of the future now. Rest in peace my soul brother...
