Roberta J. Mathis

Roberta J. Mathis, age 95 of Middletown, passed away Friday, February 2, 2018 at her home. She was born on June 17, 1922 in Clinton County, Ohio, and was raised in St. Louis, Missouri. She is a member of the Franklin United Methodist Church where she taught Sunday School for 40 years, was a member of the W.O.W. group and United Methodist Women. She was artistic and did many crafts and paintings. She was preceded in death by her husband, Vinner Leon Mathis in 2001; her parents; stepfather; three brothers; and a sister. She is survived by her children, Cheryl Mathis, Randall Mathis and Lori Wilson; a granddaughter, Ashleigh Rickey; grandson, Brandon Rupp; great grandson, Dylan Rupp; brother-in-law, Barry Mathis, Sr.; and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be from 11:00 – 1:00 pm Tuesday at the Breitenbach Anderson Funeral Home. The funeral will begin at 1:00 pm Tuesday at the funeral home with Pastor Laura Saunders officiating. Interment will be at the Woodside Cemetery in Middletown. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Franklin United Methodist Church, 303 South Main Street, Franklin, OH 45005.
