Sarah Dehart Fraizer, lovingly known as Sally, passed away on November 8, 2025, at the age of 91. She was born on October 25, 1934, in Newark, New Jersey to the late Rev. Edwin S. and Dorothy Q. Ford (Applegate), and was a recent resident of Miamisburg, Ohio. Sally was known for her outgoing, friendly disposition and loving compassion for others.
Sally was married to her late husband, George Fraizer for 65 years. Together, they raised six children in Westford, MA and Narragansett, RI. They loved hosting large family gatherings and friends at their summer cottage in RI, letting visitors enjoy the beach, boating and sailing adventures, as well as Sally’s excellent cooking. In 1986 they embarked on a year long sailing trip to England, Portugal and the Caribbean with several of their adult children serving as crew and while homeschooling their youngest. It was the adventure of a lifetime. In 2005 they moved to Barefoot Bay, FL where they enjoyed sailing to the Bahamas every winter and being part of a vibrant boating community. In 2006 they celebrated their 50th anniversary with a trip to the Galapagos. In 2019 they moved to Ohio to be closer to family in their golden years.
As a young mother, Sally was very active in her children’s lives. She ran a 4-H cooking club, helped with various Boy and Girl Scout troops, and was an official for a YMCA swim team. She hosted a high school foreign exchange student from Germany for a year while raising her own five children and caring for her father-in-law. Later in life she was passionate about working with special needs children, worked in a special needs classroom in RI, and later spent many years volunteering with the ‘Every Child Counts’ program in the Bahamas.
In her personal life, Sally was an avid gardener, a voracious reader, and a keen bird watcher. She loved animals and spent many hours volunteering at a local Humane Society in FL. She loved music, played the piano and sang in several church choirs. She was president of the League of Women Voters in the 1960s, active in garden and bridge clubs, served as an Extraordinary Minister for various Catholic churches, and was president of the Ladies Guild at St. Luke’s Catholic Church in Micco, FL. Her hobbies gave her great joy and fulfillment.
She was preceded in death by her parents; loving husband, George Fraizer; siblings Edwin, Benjamin, William Ford and Mary Moore; and granddaughter Sara Beebe.
Sally is survived by her daughters, Martha (Wayne) Beebe, Katherine Tucker, Mary Fraizer, and Ellen Fraizer; sons, George (Chris) Fraizer, and Stuart Frazier; grandchildren, Jeffrey (Jaclyn) Beebe, Mason Fraizer, Amalia, and August Baierschmidt; great grandchildren, Riley, Gryphon, and Rowan Beebe, and Madison Koch.
Sally's loving and outgoing spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
