Stephen J. Woodward, age 76, of Springboro, Ohio passed away on Tuesday, December 17, 2019 at Hospice of Butler-Warren Counties. Stephen was born June 15, 1943 in Dayton, OH to Henry and Bess Woodward.
He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Carol Woodward; two sons, Anthony (Melissa) and Andrew (Michelle); step-son, Scott (Beth) Osborn; 12 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; brother, Jeff Woodward and sister-in-law, Cinda of Wisconsin (formerly Dayton, OH); sister-in-law, Linda Hahn of Arkansas; two nieces and two nephews, Leslie, Jennifer, Jeff and Paul.
Steve graduated from Colonel White High School and attended the University of Cincinnati and Wright State University.
He was a past president of the Miami Valley Restaurant Association of Dayton. At one time, he was apart of the Springboro Planning Committee and on the board of trustees for McCray Farms Housing and Development. Steve was an active choir member for several churches in the area. He often sang during Christmas time with the Memorial Baptist Church in Dayton. He attended Newspring Church in Springboro.
Steve was employed as a Sales Rep for Quality Food and Vending, Needmore Vending and recently after retiring, he worked part-time for his life long friend, Phil Baker, owner of Areawide Inc. in Waynesville, Ohio.
Steve was known for his wit and humor and quick smile. He loved his family, his home, playing golf and visiting the seashore. He will be sorely missed by all who knew him.
A memorial service will take place January 11, 2020 at 1:00 pm at Newspring Church, 1150 S Main Street, Springboro, Ohio 45066. An inurnment will take place at Dayton Memorial Park at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Lift Program at the Springboro Fire Department.
