

Sylvia England, age 101, of Carlisle, Ohio, passed away peacefully at Astoria Health & Rehab Center in Germantown, Ohio, on April 28, 2025. Born on February 15, 1924, in Lee County, VA, she was the daughter of George and Minnie (Nevil) Pridemore.
Sylvia lived a long and fulfilling life, devoted to her family and friends. As a long-time member of Baptist Tabernacle, she found joy in serving her church community, whether through mailing greeting cards or baking pies.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Alvis H. England; her daughter, Janice S. Rose; and her son, Phillip R. England.
Sylvia is survived by her son, Greg (Loretta) England, who provided her with unwavering support and care, and her son-in-law, Mike (Wanda) Rose. She leaves behind a legacy through her grandchildren: Tony (Heidi) Rose, Tim (Anissa) Rose, Adam England, Brittany (Dustin) Jordan, and Kim (Joey) Beatty. Her great-grandchildren, Peyton and Landon Rose, Chloe Rose, Carson and Deacon Beatty, and Ryker and Amelia Jordan, will carry forward her spirit and values. Sylvia also had a special bond with several nieces and nephews, who will remember her fondly.
A celebration of Sylvia's life will be held on Thursday, May 1, 2025, at Anderson Funeral Home, 1357 E 2nd St., Franklin, OH 45005. Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM, allowing friends and family to gather and share memories, followed by the funeral service at 12:00 PM, where her life and legacy will be honored. Reverend Mike Gray officiating. Interment will be at Miami Valley Memory Gardens, Centerville, Ohio.
