Thelma Johnson Waddell

Thelma Sue Johnson Waddell, age 71 of Monroe, died Tuesday, September 25, 2012 at the Hospice of Butler and Warren Counties. She was born September 2, 1941 in Hamilton, Ohio the daughter of Willard Johnson and Ardie Mae Croucher Johnson. In the last ten years, Thelma was the "Puppy Lady" who cared for over 100 puppies before they were placed in their "forever homes". She is survived by her husband of 49 years, Delbert "Skip" Waddell; a daughter, Teri Beck of Westerville, Ohio; three sons, Greg Cindy Waddell of Monroe, Doug Kym Waddell of Delaware, Ohio, and Dave Jen Waddell of Seattle, Washington; six grandchildren, Corey Beck, Zac Waddell, Madeline Waddell, Kaitlyn Waddell, Riley Waddell, and Sadie Mae Waddell; her sister, Carol Jim Loeffler of Wichita, Kansas; and a brother, Michael Cheryl Johnson of Oxford, Ohio. She was preceded in death by her parents; son-in-law, Bryan Beck; and a grandson, Colin Waddell. The family will receive friends Friday from 4-6:00 pm at the Breitenbach-McCoy-Leffler Funeral Home.
