William R. Shockey, age 73, of Trenton, Ohio, passed away Sunday, January 15, 2012 at Mt. Pleasant Retirement Village. He was born to parents Harlan and Marie on February 2, 1938. He served a four year term in the United States Army and worked for the Armco Steel Company in the B.O.F., retiring in 1997 with 32 years of service. He was a lifelong member of the NHRA and was a member of the Middletown Pacemakers car club in the late 1950's and early 1960's. He was preceded in death by his parents and wife, Julia. He is survived by his son, Derek Shockey Emily Hedrick of West Chester, Ohio. Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Wednesday at the Breitenbach-McCoy-Leffler Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 1:00 PM Wednesday until service time at the funeral home. Burial will be at the North Monroe Cemetery.
