
DUDLEY, Wilma N. age 92 of Monroe formerly of Middletown, Ohio passed away on Monday November 19, 2012 at Mt. Pleasant Retirement Village. She was born March 21, 1920 in Clifton, New Jersey. She was the daughter of the late Ernst Willi Nebel and Bertha Wilhelm. Wilma devoted her life to her late husband, Jack, her family and her friends. She loved music, knitting, needlepoint and laughter. She grew up in Charlotte, North Carolina where her father owned a knitting mill. She earned a degree in Economics from Duke University in 1942, one of the first women earning that degree at Duke. A mutual friend suggested she exchange letters with a young man then serving in England during WWII. The result was her marriage in 1945 with Jack Duncan Dudley lasting 55 years. The couple first lived in Cincinnati, Ohio and moved to Middletown, Ohio in 1955 when Jack took a job in public relations at Armco Steel. Wilma was always gracious with friends and family. She enjoyed traveling with Jack and time with friends in walking groups, investment groups and breakfast gatherings. She was always a comedian - her keen wit prompted smiles and laughter. Wilma was a devoted mother to her four sons, Dale, Jay, Lynn and Paul and always provided a loving and happy home. She is preceded in death by her husband, Jack, and her son Paul. She is survived by her sons Dale, Jay and Lynn; one grandson Justin; four granddaughters Layla Dudley, Carmel Doran, Suraya Barbee and Kiffany Bosserman; seven great-grandchildren Jonathon, Jaiden and Tristen Dudley, Selma Doran, Jack Barbee, Zed Dudley and Trent John Bosserman. Services for her will be held at Breitenbach McCoy Leffler Funeral Home, 517 S. Sutphin St., Middletown, Ohio at 11:00 AM on Tuesday November 27, 2012 with visitation at 10:00 AM. Wilma's family appreciates the wonderful care given to her by the staff at the Mt. Pleasant Retirement Village in Monroe, Ohio.
