Tyriek Davon Powell

Tyriek Davon Powell, 20 years old of Fredericksburg passed away on Thursday, June 3, 2021, at Mary Washington Hospital. He is survived by his Mother, Tiffany Thurston; Two Brothers, Devontae Bates and Dayjaun Thurston; Two Sisters, Tashia Gaqueral and Diamond Powell; Two Nephews, Madden and Malik; Two Nieces, Madiya and Zahara; Grandparents, Fernand and Brenda Sajous and Randolph Boone Jr; Aunts, Charmaine Sajous, Denise Hill (Ray), Natina Boone, Aunt Debbie, Aunt Linda, and Aunt Diane; Uncles, Dwaine Sajous (Mara), Timothy Powell, Derohn Boone and Tephlon Perion; His girlfriend JorJa White AKA “J.K.W” as Rieko would call her, and many more aunts, uncles, cousins and friends that he is loved by. He is preceded in death by his Father Jerome Powell, his Sister Tamika Howard, his Grandmother Susie Powell and his Uncle James Powell. The Story of Tyriek Powell: Tyriek’s story began on May 30th, 2001, in Fredericksburg, VA. It took two OB- Doctors to deliver him, he was 9lbs and 12 ounces. When he was born, he drunk a whole 4oz bottle! The nurses said they have never seen a baby drink a whole 4oz bottle without taking a break, when first coming into the nursery. Lol, Riek was a big boy! Tyriek attended Hugh Mercer Elementary, Upper Lafayette and Walker-Grant middle school. He also attended Massaponax High and Brooke Point High school. Tyriek received his GED in 2019. Tyriek is highly intelligent! He has lots of academic awards and awards in general. Tyriek’s 3rd grade principal Mr. Terry told his mother “he scored the highest out of the entire school on all of his SOL test”. Riek had a few jobs but, his first job was a cook at McDonalds. Tyriek enjoys playing basketball (He is very competitive), playing the newest 2k on Xbox live, listening to and writing music, and dancing! He also loves cooking and has a great love for animals. Tyriek enjoys going to the studio with his older brother Tae. He would tell everyone he knows; his big brother inspired him to start writing music. He is his older brother’s biggest supporter. Tyriek loves to laugh and keeps everyone laughing with his jokes, he’s very comical. God had to build Tyrieks heart out of solid gold because he is always helping someone in need. He is a very loving, giving and a respectful man. So many people complement’s Tyriek on how respectful and nice he is. Tyrieks love is unconditional! If you know Tyriek then you know that his mother (Tiffany) is his heart! He always makes sure that he went to her doctor appointments with her. Tyriek never hesitates to tell the doctors all the bad foods his mother eats, and he will ask the doctor to please tell his mother that she cannot eat what he eats, lol. He says, “she is saying yes to certain foods, but her health is saying no”. Tyriek lectures his mother about her health, the reason being he says, “I want you to live a long and healthy life and because I love you mom” He lost his father (Jerome Powell) at a young age due to being unhealthy and it hurt him, terribly. He and his father are very close. Tyriek is a young man that is full of life! You cannot get him to sit down for nothing, lol. Riek stayed on the go! Tyriek loves his family so much that words cannot describe; he created nicknames for almost all of his siblings, nieces and nephews. His nieces and nephews love him dearly! They dance to music and laugh together every chance they get! Tyriek loves to play video games and had started the process of going to college for game design. Full Sail University is the college he started attending with his big brother. Tyriek planned to go to campus for his program, the college is located in Florida. He spent a whole day at his big brothers’ house earlier in the month of May; they sat down and started working on his FASFA. He planned to leave for school on his birthday May 30th, 2021, after celebration his 20th birthday with his family and friends. He loves his mother’s cooking! He always asked his mother to make his favorite homemade macaroni and cheese with spinach and homemade turkey burgers with green peppers. He also loves his mother’s homemade blueberry cake! Tyriek can eat lol. When he comes home, his mother knows, it’s him, just off of the knock. Riek has a particular knock at the door; he uses his knuckles to create a certain type of beat on the door. He comes in the house and hollers, “momma, momma” and when his mother says “yes”? He will go locate his mom in the house and hug her and kiss her three times on her face and say, “I love you momma”! He would joke around and tell his mother that he and his girlfriend JKW are going to give her 10 grand kids. Tyriek is very overprotective of his family, especially his mother and siblings. Tyriek is an amazing, wonderful, loving, caring and talented young man! Everyone that knows him, loves him and all stated how respectful he is!! Tyriek will be greatly missed by all of his family and friends!! Gone in the physical but FOREVER ALIVE IN THE SPIRITUAL REALM!! LONG LIVE TYRIEK DAVON POWELL aka REKIO BANDZ
