Conrad died peacefully of natural causes on Sunday, September 30, 2012 at the age of 93.
Conrad, a former longtime resident of Milpitas, was very involved with St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, where he was head usher for 15 years, taught CCD and offered his support whenever there was a need. He was past Grand Knight of the St. John the Baptist Knights of Columbus Council in Milpitas.
He was born and raised in Taunton, Mass, where he went to school, married and began his family and worked at the Mt. Hope Finishing Company. He moved to California in 1962 where he raised his family, working 18 years at Hewlett Packard Company in Palo Alto, and five years at Ace Hardware in Milpitas.
Conrad retired with his wife to Gardnerville, NV, where he soon found himself doing what he did best, working with people. He began working at Carson Valley Inn in Minden, NV. as a porter and driver and later as supervisor of custodial services. He finally retired at age 82.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Mary T, (Corey); his four children Joyce (Jerry) DeLancey of Missouri, Cynthia Lawrence of Canada, DC Bleau of Milpitas, and Douglas (Carrie) Bleau of Modesto; grandchildren Laren, Sean, Darrell, Nicole, Douglas, and Cassaundra; great grandchildren Dalton, Katey, Delane, and Joseph. He also leaves his brothers Raymond, Albert, and sister Edna Bleau. He was preceded in death by his parents; Napoleon and Eleanor Bleau, siblings; Doris, Norman, and Gilbert Bleau, and one son; Conrad Charles Bleau, a Sgt. in the US Marine Corp.
Conrad loved telling stories and making people laugh. No matter where he traveled he was always recognized or knew someone. He will be truly missed by his family and friends.
Visitation will be 2:00pm - 9:00pm Monday; October 8th with a Rosary Service from 6:00pm – 7:00pm at Lima Family Milpitas-Fremont Mortuary, 48800 Warm Springs Boulevard, Fremont, CA 94539 (408) 263-2868. Funeral services will be Tuesday, October 9th, 10:30 am St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 279 S. Main Street, Milpitas, CA 95035. NOTE: Church parking - access from Abel St. only. Burial will follow at Cedar Lawn Cemetery, 48800 Warm Springs Boulevard, Fremont, CA 94539 (408) 263-2868
