I remember Auntie Connie not only as my mother's sister-in-law but a dear friend and a confidant. Her support for my mother was steadfast and always available to listen.  

Her lessons she gave me is through her stoic silence -- sometimes that's the most powerful thing! I saw strength in that and respected it. 

Auntie thank you being there for us especially when my sister and I  first arrived in America. That love extended also through your children and how they treated us. Until we meet again in God's paradise!

Although you're no longer with us, your presence and love will always be cherished in our hearts. You brought so much joy and warmth into our lives, and we will forever remember the beautiful memories we shared together. Rest in peace, knowing that you are deeply loved and missed.

I have known Auntie Conching since my childhood, both of us hailing from Bacayao. I have known her through the years as we belong to a big extended family. Auntie Conching is a woman of few words, but when she opens up, her words are full of lessons and rhymes from anecdotes, proverbs, and verses she learned and remembered from her college days. You’ll hear things like, “You reap what you sow,” “There’s gold at the foot of the rainbow,” and “If there is sacrifice, there is paradise.”
Goodbye Auntie Conching. You’ll always be remembered. Rest in eternal peace.

My memory of Auntie Conching is when I was younger, we used to be together when washing our own clothes. We hand wash our clothes. There was no washing machine that time back in the Philippines. We were neighbors and we used the same water pump. I tried to hurry up so I could use the water pump first. While washing, we would tell stories. So long Auntie Cons. I will miss you. I love you.

I have a very happy and fond memories visiting Auntie Conching with my mom (Cora Fronda) in Aug 2021, about 2 years after my dad (ErnieFronda) passed away. My mom and Auntie Conching were so happy to reunite and connect again with each other. My Mom doesn’t get the chance to galavant often, so she was extra excited to be with Auntie Conching. They were speaking to each other in Ilocano and Auntie Conching kept saying “Cora, Cora, Cora”. It’s remarkable that she remembered “Cora”. They were even giving each other high fives ( see picture) for having survived the pandemic. I was moved by that as I thought of the deep connection they shared as strong Filipina women who came to America, worked extremely hard, raised their families, and with all their sacrifices, they gave us the opportunity to have a better life. Auntie Conching, I am beyond grateful for what you and my mom sacrificed for us. You lived a very good life and were blessed with a beautiful family. May you rest in peace with the Lord. You were very loved and will be missed forever. ( Please say to my dad for me.) Edith Fronda-Fehrman
