Emma Rutab Ragasa

Guillerma “Emma” Rutab Ragasa was born on June 25, 1929 in San Sebastian, San Vicente, Ilocos Sur, Philippines to Ciriaca Tabur and Modesto Rutab. She was the third born of four children. She was introduced to her husband Silvestre Ragasa by her aunts and together they had seven children. She migrated to the United States in Dec 1979 and settled in San Jose, CA after a short stay in Stockton, CA.

After working as a caregiver, she decided to live a simple life doing things around the house and the garden. She also dedicated her time taking care of her grandchildren. She loved doing puzzles and coloring books, as well as dancing and singing her favorite Ilocano songs.

She is preceded in death by her husband Silvestre Ragasa, her daughter Cornelia Idmilao and her siblings Valentina Rubac, Simeon Rutab and Petra Respicio.

Emma passed away peacefully and surrounded by her love ones on Aug 3, 2023, at the age of 94. She leaves behind her six children—Rosalie (Mon), Bing (Cora), Elena (Lito), Marilyn (June), Robert, and Justine (Ross), son-in law Roland; twelve grandchildren--Gemmalyn, Ruby-Lynn, Rose Lorraine, Scott Francis, Marielle Kris, Christian Jerel, Jurizza, Kenneth, McKevin, Mae-Richelle, Kirsten Marie, and Jaiden; and six great-grandchildren--Maxine, Calvin, Isla, Noemi, Cecelia, and Camila.

With tears in our eyes and heavy hearts, we say goodbye to you mom. You sacrificed so much to make our lives better. You will be dearly missed. Thank you for the love and care you have given us. We love you MOM!
