Ernesto Laguardia Jarapa

Ernesto Laguardia Jarapa, a loving husband and father, has succumbed to his illness on July 9, 2020 at the age of 74.

He is survived by his wife, Zenaida Jarapa (née Frias); his children Marivic, Ariel, Eric, Dexter and Jasmine; his grandchildren and siblings in the Philippines, Australia and the United States.

He was born in the Philippines on February 10, 1946 to Gavino and Josefina Jarapa. As the fourth child of twelve children he was a bright young boy who in his own words was generous with his time whenever required. Unable to finish his educational aspirations he assisted his father in the trade of the family business.

In 1966, he married the love of his life Zenaida Frias and fathered five children whom he dotted on dutifully. Entrusting in Divine providence and their good nature, they soon had their own families and resulted in grandchildren which gave him much joy and delight.

In his life, he always found humour as an antidote to the many challenges he faced but never mean spirited in anyway. He relished the good things in life including food, family and friends. His renewed faith gave him the resilience to endure and hope in the midst of his agony.

Ernesto, you were a husband, father, brother, uncle, grandfather and friend to many. Even though we are saddened by losing you, we take solace in the words of the Lord who says: I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in Me will live even he dies..John 11:25
