Florence Lavada Funderburk Hughes

She was born March 22, 1920, in Cooter, Missouri. She is the daughter of the late Dallas and Viola Funderburk and the sister of 3 brothers, Lawrence, Elvis and Raymond Funderburk. On July 26, 1947, she married Lawrence Hughes, who survives. They were a devoted couple and were married 64 years.

She was a loving Wife, Mother and Grandmother and devoted her life to taking care of her family. There are many fond memories of family gatherings and games, camping, boating, trips to the mountains and snowmobiling. She enjoyed her garden and always had beautiful roses blooming in the summertime.

She is survived by her Husband, Lawrence Hughes of Newark, CA; Daughter and Son-In-law, Patricia & James Phillips of San Ramon, CA; Son and Daughter-In-Law, Kenneth & Lynda Hughes of Newark, CA; Brother & Sister-In-Law, Raymond & Evelyn Funderburk of Sonora, CA; 8 Grandchildren, 17 Great-Grandchildren, 2 Great-Great Grandchildren, numerous Nieces and Nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Dallas & Viola Funderburk; Son, Franklin Reddell Jr and her brothers, Lawrence Funderburk and Elvis Funderburk.

A service was held Saturday, January 14, 2012 at Lima Family Mortuary in Fremont, California.

Burial will take place on January 21, 2012 at 2 pm at Lakewood Memorial Park, 900 Santa Fe Ave, Hughson, CA 95326.
