I miss you, Kamica.  I don't want to let go..........

Kamica, my first cousin, my lil sis, my mic mic (meek meek), i miss you so much. You know how much you were loved, i will forever keep you in my heart. Heaven is blessed with another beautiful angel. Gone too soon, but never forgotten!! My heart aches but i feel the peace... I'm here for Kelah and Jordan in any way that they may need me. They will always know how much their mommy loved them. I will see you in my dreams....until we meet again, I love you.

To the family and friends of Kamica, as well as her beloved children, Kelah and Jordan, please accept my deepest sympathies for your loss.

There is no one and nothing that could fill the void that your loss has caused in our lives.  It is unimaginable, because you were truly unique.  You influenced countless lives, and each and every person that had the honor of being touched by your bright, shining light has been deeply enriched by your presence.  I promise you, you will never be forgotten.  You will live on through your family, your friends, and your children – and your legacy will be one of love, courage, dedication, strength and glory.

While I know in my heart that you are in a place of peace and love, I still selfishly wish you were here with me right here, right now.   I’m sure that everyone has that same wish though.  The wish to continue laughing every time we had the chance to be together.  The wish to have more time to share our thoughts and dreams.  The wish to sit at brunch together when we retired – talking about all the fun we used to have when we were ‘those crazy kids’.  But since my wish is not possible anymore, I need to change the direction of my dreams for our future.  So what I will do instead is vow to always hold you in my heart and never forget you.  I vow to revere our friendship - to honor you - for the rest of my life.  I vow to do my best to emulate all of your glorious qualities – your goodness, your sweetness, your loving nature, your pure ethics, your fortitude and strength – and in this way I will always continue to pay to tribute to one of the best women I’ve ever known.

I would like to share one funny story though – because, all of my memories of us were full of brightness and laughter.  I will always remember the last time we actually saw each other in person.  I met you at the BofA building to have a coffee after work, and somehow we got on to the story of what we’d each done the weekend before.  I had recently purchased a new blackberry, and you happened to have the same model number.  And while I was telling you that while I was out the previous Saturday night, with my phone in the back pocket of my jeans, how I’d accidentally speed-dialed my parents by bumping my back pocket against a wall, and pressing ‘their’ button on the blackberry.  And we just laughed and laughed because my Mom picked up the phone and was so annoyed – and freaked out – to be getting a call in Illinois at 3am in the morning her time.  All she could hear was loud music and singing in the background, and here I was – not even knowing that I’d called her!  Mom wasn’t sure whether to be worried about me, or just call me back and yell at me the next day for waking them up in the middle of the night.  And we laughed hysterically together when I reminded you that you had this to look forward to in a few years with your kids.  And then you took out your blackberry and said, “Jones – you idiot – all you have to do is lock the panel on the phone”.  And you showed me how to work my own, stupid phone.  So thank you for always being there in my life.  You were priceless.

I love you, and I miss you more than you can ever imagine.

This is for your boo...you always loved to light candles...I promise to light one everyday for you.

Wow!  Where do I begin? Kamica was  a wonderful sister with an absolutely beautiful spirit.  Although we didn't speak often, I considered her a dear friend and I kept tabs on her through Nicole.  We tend to get caught up in our daily lives and don't always do the best job of keeping in touch with our loved ones.  This is certainly a wake up call for me.  I was completely thrown to find out that my girl had passed on and I had not even spoken to her.  I didn't take the time to call to say Congats on the new baby or any of those other important milestones that we should support our friends in.  This is really going to make me a better friend.  
Kamica, you will truly be missed.  You and your family have always been in my thoughts and prayers.  We all know that you were one of the most beautiful angels in life and I can just see you now with those wings and dimples (smile)right now! I will continue to keep your family in my prayers.  Please watch over us all, as I know that you will!  

I love you my Sister!!!

Living in different cities many miles away meant nothing to Kamica & I. We became chat room friends in 1997 & by 1998 until Aug 2007, we were traveling to all kinds of places together: Atlanta, GA (3 times!!!), Las Vegas, the Bahamas, & I visited her & Karl once in San Francisco & was elated to be able to fly out for their wedding. We were immediately like girls that had known one another our entire lives! We literally communicated via the computer almost daily & on the phone every chance we got (sometimes several times a month). My memories with Kamica are too many to list, so it is no wonder that my heart feels like its been ripped from my chest just knowing that I can't call her & say "hey girl, get your passport out & let's go!" I am devastated by the loss of my sister/friend - still waiting to wake up from this awful dream. Vanessa, you are so much like your sister, I love you like I loved her but no one could ever love you more than Kamica did!! Kelah, you were the brightest light in her life!! Carry her with you at all times because she will watch over you and your baby brother, BJ, always. Give him lots of kisses and make sure he knows they're from Mommie. Karl, I know how much you all loved each other. You were luckiest of all to make those dimples shine more than anyone else could. Deepest condolences to all Kamica's family & friends. Though I am unable to make the flight to her services, I am sending LOTS of pictures to Vanessa & have told EVERYONE to call me whenever they want to hear funny stories about our trips! I'm painfully forced to feel the painful disconnection of our heart-string & its made this world a dimmer place.  I love you, Mica, will miss you terribly, but I know I'll see you in my dreams...

My prayers go out to Kamica's family. I met her a few years ago on a wonderful trip to the Bahamas. We had a great time. She was so sweet and funny. May God continue to guide you and please remain faithful. She will truely be missed.

My condolences go out to Kamica's children, Kelah and Jordan; her siblings, her parents and her entire family.

I worked with Kamica and Vanessa at Banc of America Securities in 2000. She and I kept in touch via email. I was shocked, hurt and saddened when I heard the news of Kamica's passing. All I could think about initially were her children. They have lost their mommy! What will they do without their mother? You know what they will do.....they will grow up and hear wonderful stories of their mother and blossom into respectiful, gracious and kind individuals. They are in His hands and He will take care of them :-)

I will remember her beautiful and contagious smile. She had dimples that would make a baby jealous :-). She will be missed by many.

No one will ever replace you Mic mic (meek meek).  I miss you so much!  You will always be the better part of me.

My dearest friend...words can not express how much I miss you.  I think GOD for blessing my life with such a beautiful friend and sister and for giving me the opportunity to have seen you just a couple days before he opened his arms to welcome his "Angel" home.  My last words to you were.."I love you"..My heart is heavy without you my friend, but your smile, your laughter, and your heart I will carry with me always.  I LOVE YOU dearly and will look for you in my dreams...

I knew Kamica for 2.5 weeks.  She impressed me with her patience, graciousness, and her beautiful smile.  I knew her for so little of time, yet, she will always be with me.  She has been one of those individuals who resonates.
