Leonora Leonardo

Leonora Aldos Leonardo died peacefully in her San Jose home on February 7, 2012 at the age of 88. She is known for her nickname “ORANG”. She was preceded in death by her husband Jaime Leonardo, her son Jose Leonardo and 5 siblings. Leonora is survived by son Jaime Leonardo JR, (Lita Leonardo), and daughter Juanita Leonardo Yu (Eldy Yu); grand children, Joy Francisco (Roland Francisco), Jason Leonardo (Mary Jane), Janice Leonardo (Allan), Justin Leonardo, Janell Ann Yu, Errol J. Yu, and Joe Ross Benedicto Leonardo (Jose Leonardo); great grand children, Serena Francisco, Kaela and Keara Leonardo, and Leilani Ramos Leonardo.

Leonora was the daughter of the late Pascual and Josefa Aldos both from Ilocos Norte, Philppines. She was born on November 8, 1923 in Pagudpod Ilocos Norte. She was married to Jaime Leonardo and had 3 children. Leonora dedicated her life as a good wife, loving and responsible mother to her three children and had served her in-laws to the fullest as well. She spent most of her family life in Marikina Rizal, Lapog Ilocos Sur, and Dapitan Sampaloc Manila before migrating to USA in 1978. In her first few years in CA, she worked in a canary and later on worked as electronic assembler at Stanford Electronic Company in Santa Clara and retired in 1991.

After her retirement she spent her time taking caring of her grandchildren and occasionally, she goes out with her friends. She enjoyed her friends company, young and old alike. Having parties at home always gave her enjoyment even just with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Strong, responsible, loving, caring and forgiving are the key words to describe the life of Leonora Leonardo. She is an amazing woman committed to her family and to the traditional values that she upheld her entire life. She offered her unconditional love to her children and grandchildren without hesitation. Hardships are always part of her life but there’s always been enlightenment after awhile. She had lived her life to the utmost of her capability.
