At 92 years of age, Maria passed away peacefully at her home in Milpitas, CA, on August 16, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Cuautla, Jalisco, Mexico. She made the Bay Area her home more than 55 years ago and dedicated over four decades to working at McCarthy Ranch. Her life was a testament to dedication, grace, and an enduring love for her family.
Maria is lovingly remembered by her children: Maria, Filimon, Gloria, Everardo “Lalo”, Marina, Yolanda, Tomas, Ramona “Mona”, Margarita “Margie”, and Elva. She now reunites in heaven with her beloved children who preceded her in death: Liberato, Raul, and Rafaela “Lita”.
Maria’s remarkable legacy lives on in her extensive family—49 grandchildren (three of whom have passed), 121 great-grandchildren (four of whom have passed), and 30 great-great-grandchildren (one who has passed).
Maria found her greatest joy in the company of her family. She was deeply devoted to her Catholic faith and cherished attending Sunday Mass. She enjoyed playing Bingo for fun and took pride in tending to her garden in the evenings, often after long days working in the fields or packing shed. Maria will be fondly remembered for her strength, courage, humor, spirited nature, and above all, her unwavering love for her family.
