On Sunday, August 23rd, 2020, Nhan Pham, a loving husband, father, and grandfather, passed away at the age of 86 peacefully to Our Lord surrounded by his family in San Jose, California.
Nhan was born on June 10th, 1934 in Da Nang, Vietnam to Ky Pham and Hy Thi Do. He worked as a mechanic and was a member of Hang Hai Thuong Thuyen Vietnam (Vietnamese Merchant Ships) for over 30 years. On March 16th, 1960, he married the love of his life, Lien Ngoc Nguyen and together they raised five daughters, Mai, Huong, Yen, Phuong Kimberly, Dao Claira and a son, Thanh Anthony. Of his six children, he was a wonderful grandfather to fifteen grandchildren. On March 3rd, 1981, he immigrated from his native country to America with his family to start a new life journey in San Jose, California. He achieved his AA degree from San Jose City College as a Mechanical Engineer. He applied his trade skills in helping family and friends from fixing vehicles to home repairs.
Nhan is a devoted Christian who leads his family to God’s faith. He dedicated his life to his family and friends with unconditional love and care selflessly. He is a man with high integrity and is well respected by everyone that he encounters. His passions are playing the mandolin, dancing, and singing, especially to Christian hymns. Even in his last moments of breath, he was singing some of his favorite hymns to his family. He loved to play Ping-pong and practiced three times a week. He enjoyed watching documentaries of animals and ocean waves. He loved to travel and explore the world with his wife, family, and friends. For memories keepsakes, he also collects music CDs, video tapes, and DVDs wherever he visits.
Nhan was known for his infectious smiles, his kind hearted soul, and his compassionate spirit. He is the man with the biggest heart! He lived a simple and happy life by practicing and following the guidance of many verses in the bible. This is one of his favorite verses:
“The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, kindness, patience, goodness, gentleness, self-control, and faithfulness. Against such things there is no law.” ~ Galatians 5:22-23
We are thankful and blessed to have him in our life. He will always be forever in our hearts. We love you.
