

Buu Nhon originally came from the Nguyen Dynasty royal family. He is the son of Mr. Ung Nien and Mrs.Do Thi Tuy, and the grandson of King Hiep Hoa. He was born on June 25, 1933 (Bao Dai Year 8), which corresponds to August 16, 1933.
From a young age, he was filial to his parents, diligent in his studies, and had compassion for the poor.
Education:
1940 - 1945: Attended An Cựu Primary School, Hue city, VN. 1949 - 1954: Attended Quốc Học High School, Hue city, VN. Military Career:
Afterward, he joined the Army of the Republic of Vietnam (ARVN) and attended 4B course at Thủ Đức Reserve Officer School (trường Sĩ Quan Trừ Bị Thủ Đức). He graduated on October 1, 1954, with the rank of sub lieutenant.
He promoted to Lieutenant in 1956, then Captain (1961). During this period, he worked at the Presidential Palace Defense Brigade( Lữ Đoàn Liên Binh Phòng Vệ Phủ Tổng Thống) under President Ngo Dinh Diem.
After the 1963 coup that resulted in President Ngô Đình Diệm's assassination and the end of the First Republic (Đệ nhất Cộng hòa), he was transferred to Thừa Thiên Huế, serving in the 1st Infantry Division (Sư đoàn 1 Bộ binh) of the I Corps (Quân đoàn I)
It was not until 1968 that he became a full Major, then a full Lieutenant Colonel one year later (1969).
He was selected and attended various military training courses abroad, including in Okinawa, Japan, in 1966, and Fort Lee, Virginia, USA, in 1974.
In late 1974, he came back to Vietnam and was appointed Chief of the Training Department ( Chủ sự Phòng Huấn luyện) - General Department of Logistics (Tổng cục Tiếp Vận) of the ARVNF (Republic of Vietnam Armed Forces), until the fall of Saigon on April 30, 1975.
Post-1975:
After April 30, 1975, he was imprisoned by the communist government in “re-education” camps in the south at Long Giao (Long Khánh) and Tam Hiệp (Biên Hòa). He was later transferred to the north for nine years at Yên Bái, Hoàng Liên Sơn, Vĩnh Quang (Vĩnh Phú), and finally Ba Sao (Hà Nam Ninh).
In 1985, after ten years of hard imprisonment, he was released and reunited with his family in Saigon.
On December 13, 1993, he emigrated to the United States under the HO program with his wife and four unmarried children (three sons and one daughter). Later, in 2005 and 2010, his daughter and two sons, who remained in Vietnam with their five children, were sponsored to join him in the United States.
Family:
Married Mrs. Hoàng Thị Hiền, born at the Hour of the Cat on July 25, 1934 (6:30 AM, September 30, 1934). She was the youngest daughter of the late Bang Tá Hoàng Hữu Huyên from Bích Khê village, Triệu Phong district, Quảng Trị province, and Mrs. Nguyễn Thị Sửu from Quảng Trị. Their wedding took place on October 7, 1958 in Hue City, Central of Vietnam.
Mrs. Hoàng Thị Hiền passed away on November 28, 1994 in San Jose, California, USA, due to a cerebral hemorrhage.
She lived to the age of 60.
They had eight children, including six sons and two daughters:
1. Vĩnh Anh: Born October 25, 1959, married to Nguyễn Thanh Hà (1967), with three sons: Bảo Duy, Bảo Khoa, and Bảo Khang.
2. Vĩnh Tuấn: Born December 27, 1960, married to Nguyễn Thị Thùy Trang (1970), with two children: Nguyễn Phước Bảo Matthew (son) and Nguyễn Công Huyền Kathy (daughter).
3. Vĩnh Hùng: Born January 13, 1963, married to Trần Thị Thùy Trang, with two sons: Bảo Hưng and Bảo Long.
4. Công Tằng Tôn Nữ Đoan Trang: married to David Phạm, with one daughter, Vũ Ngọc Phương Anh.
5. Vĩnh Phú: Born November 16, 1966, married to Vũ Thị Kim Loan, with two children: Nguyễn Phước Bảo Eric (son) and Nguyễn Công Huyền Christine (daughter).
6. Vĩnh Phước: Born February 22, 1968, died early in an electrical accident at work (12:15 AM, October 26, 1989) at the age of 21.
7. Công Tằng Tôn Nữ Hoàng Trang: Born October 7, 1969, married to Nguyễn Lam Sơn, with one daughter, Nguyễn Công Tina.
8. Vĩnh Nghiêm: Born July 4, 1972, married to Lê Thị Diễm Thúy, with three children: Nguyễn Phước Bảo Kevin (son), and Nguyễn Công Huyền Kelly and Nguyễn Công Huyền Kacey (daughters).
All of his children and their families are currently living in San Jose, Milpitas and Santa Clara, California, USA.
Due to his old age and weak health, after nearly three months of treatment, he passed away at 3:45 AM, surrounded by his children, daughters-in-law, sons-in-law, and four eldest grandsons at a hospital in San Jose, California, USA. He lived to the age of 91.
