Rick, who attended Mission College and San Jose State University, became a much sought-after computer engineer. He spent over 27 years working in that field. His last employment was as a respected QA manager for Symantec Corporation in Mt. View, California.
In 1992, Rick married Nelly LaCotera in San Jose, California. They shared a love of the outdoors, especially hiking, whether it be on the beach or in the mountains. Rick became known for his gourmet taste and became quite an accomplished chef.
In 1996, the couple were blessed with the birth of their daughter, Tiffany. Rick was extremely proud of Tiffany and her accomplishments, which could be seen in his expressions whenever he talked about her. Blondie, the family Cocker Spaniel, was a beloved companion. The neighborhood cats, which regularly visited the backyard, were a source of great amusement and sometimes concern to Rick.
An avid internet shopper, Rick, was an expert at finding seemingly impossible good buys. Friends and family were often awed at his on-line buying conquests.
