Roberto Pescasio Malimban

He was born in Manila, Philippines, and raised in Maragondon, Cavite, Philippines, to Rita and Justino Malimban. Bert was the second of nine children. He is survived by his siblings Elisa Mojica, Crispulo Malimban, Edgardo Malimban, Carmencita Santos, and Charito Modesto, and was predeceased by Zenaida Mariano, Nestor Malimban, and Mayumi Malimban.

In March 1979, Bert migrated to the United States and began building a new life in San Francisco. Soon after, he started his career as a machinist in Santa Clara, working at Varian Associates and Brightlight Welding. On March 18, 1989, he married Reynalin Malimban, and together they were blessed with two children, Robbie and Beverly. He dedicated himself to providing a stable, nurturing, and welcoming home for his family.

Known for his generosity and warm spirit, Bert had a gift for bringing people together. Friends, relatives, and neighbors always found a place at his table. His home was a haven filled with laughter, good food, and companionship—especially when he served his well-loved kare-kare, pulutan, and goto (lugaw). Whether sharing drinks, exchanging stories, or simply enjoying each other’s company, he created moments that became cherished memories for all who visited him.

Bert enjoyed a wide range of interests, including fishing, hunting, gardening, shooting, and collecting guns, knives, and liquors. He was also a dependable handyman, always ready to repair what was broken and ensure everything at home was in order. Despite his many activities, he never failed to check on his children and siblings, demonstrating the deep love he carried for his family.

He will be remembered for his jokes, his endless storytelling, and the joyful personality that could brighten any room. His presence was a source of comfort, humor, and warmth to everyone who knew him.

Roberto “Bert” Pescasio Malimban lived a life defined by generosity, devotion, and love. Though he will be deeply missed, his memory will continue to live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know him.
