My beloved sister was always strong and independent. I think everyone would agree that Ate Sol had a great fashion sense. She exuded class and elegance. She was more than a sister, she's my best friend, a mentor and a second mother to me, partly because we were 11 years apart. Ate Sol was always there for me when I needed help. I knew I had someone who would listen to me, give me guidance and advices whenever I have problems. 

She is a woman of extraordinary grace and kindness. Despite her illness and heart condition, Ate Sol has the biggest heart. She was the most expressive, generous, compassionate soul I've ever known.  She would surround her family with love and attention. Ate Sol would regularly send gifts to the family even if they're miles away or across the globe, cook delcious food, send thoughtful messages and greetings. She also inspired me to play sudoku and word puzzles to exercise my mind.  She knows how to make the people she loves feel special and important. Ate Sol was beautiful inside and out. 

There are no words to express how sad and devastated I am in losing Ate Sol. I never thought I will lose her so soon. I will miss her love, her care and sweet smiles. But I find comfort in knowing that she lived a full life, surrounded by people who loved her and whose lives were touched by her.

Thank you, Ate Sol, for the countless blessings you brought into our lives. Your life was a testament to the power of kindness, the strength of character, and the beauty of a life well-lived. 

I love you so much Ate, and I'll be forever grateful for all the moments we've spent together. You're the best Ate. You are now at peace and free from pain and suffering. May you rest in eternal peace with the Lord.  Goodnight, we will see each other again in heaven. 🙏🏻💗🕊️

I called Solly “Ate” for she was the eldest among the first cousins of the Aromin family. Ate Sol was a very generous person whom me and my family were blessed to be the recipients. She was a caring and selfless person which I personally experienced when I got really sick few years ago that I have to stay in bed, she made an effort to prepare and cooked meals for me almost everyday, this is who Ate Sol was, she was more concerned of the welfare of others before herself. Ate Sol was God’s miracle, her doctors told her last 2019 that she won’t have a quality of life due to her heart condition, the medical team already gave up on her , but God did not, and by God’s grace she was able to live for another five years and able to resume things she had been doing before she got really sick. Indeed God was gracious and good to Ate. In the beginning of this year, Ate Sol’s health condition was beginning to deteriorate but knowing Ate Sol she was a fighter and drew her strength from the Lord which her life verse is in “Psalm 27:1”. Ate Sol indeed “ fought a good fight , have finished the race and kept the faith” ( 2Timothy 4:7) I will miss her deeply and I will treasure all the fond memories I had with Ate. As we celebrate the life of my dear cousin Solly, let me remember the laughter, love, and joy she brought into our lives as we cherish the memories she shared with us and the legacy of love and respect she left behind.

She showed us that family always comes first – no matter what. Everyone who knew her knew how proud she was of the people she loved especially her Custodio family members, close relatives and her long time friends.

Ate Solly was a gorgeous lady,full of confidence with a good fashion sense. She is a very strong woman who always got her way. She was a selfless person with a generous heart who went through her life helping others. Despite the
medical challenges she faced in her later age, she still regularly send gifts to my family back in the Philippines. No matter how hard things got due to her medical condition, she always made time for the people she cared about.

While we were on vacation in California late last year, she baked and cooked for us at home and we enjoyed her own delicious style of cooking Spanish,Mexican and Filipino cuisine foods.She would show and teach us her different cooking methods and preparations. While there, she took us shopping and dinner in different restaurants despite her fragile condition.
 
We were saddened to hear that  her health deteriorated during this past two months. We will never know how she handled her sufferings in those crucial time but for now you're finally at peace Ate Solly. We may no longer see you but we’ll always have these special moments we shared with you.

I know we are all grieving for we lost a great lady but I know wherever you are now, you are happy and contented with what you left us.

Thank you for sharing your life with us. And may your love continue to shine on us and your friends you left behind. We will always be grateful for your kindness and generosity. Goodbye my dearest cousin Solly, you are eternally missed❤️🙏🏾

Coming from a big family on my grandmother Lola Pinay's side (Aromin family), I am blessed with many aunties and uncles. Some of them, like Tita Sol, live in the US whom I never met prior to my first time visit in the US last May 2022.  During these 3 weeks of vacation in the US with my mother Lita (Tita Sol's first cousin), my father Jimmy, and my fiancé  Nigel, I have grown so many special memories with Tita Sol that I will cherish forever. My first fond memory of Tita Sol was her warm welcome when she happily called my name for the first time and hugged me and ofcourse her very posh fashion sense which I admire alot! I remember joking Tita Sol that her fashion sense is better than mine! Each day we stayed in their house with Tita Cora and Tita Mila, Tita Sol enjoyed cooking various delicious food. Whenever I told her I would help her, she would refuse as she said I am their guest and that she can manage. I was worried as I knew she had several medical histories that might make it challenging for her to cook, but Tita Sol is adamant that she could manage and she is happy to cook for us. I thought to myself that Tita Sol is one of the strongest and bravest person I have known. Not to mention her overflowing generosity. I remember this one time when she was on Amazon on her phone (her favorite shopping site), she randomly told me that she would buy gifts for my brothers and sisters, nephews and nieces back in the Philippines. We even video-called them to ask them what they like. So on Christmas 2022 and Christmas 2023, knowing that she loves Amazon, I have gifted her Amazon gift cards each time and she loved it and she would chat to me how thankfuk she was! Even though she does not have any children of her own, she is an inspiration and role model to all of us, her nephews and nieces. My short but sweet memories of meeting you, Tita Sol, will last forever. I know that you are happy and pain-free now in the presence of our Lord Jesus Christ. We love you Tita Sol!

Ate Sol is one of my cousins who I treat as my own sister. During the 3 months of vacation time that me and my husband spent together with Ate Sol in the US, I have experienced having a real ate in her (older sister) who is extremely generous and genuinely thoughtful. She always asked what we needed and found joy in giving gifts to my entire family in the Philippines, even including my grandchildren. She did not have to do it, but she insisted so as it made her happy. She was so kind to us that we developed a special bond that we always chat each other up until the last few hours of her life. Ate Sol, thank you so much for everything. You will always have a special place in our hearts.

Ate Solly valued the importance of Education in our family. When we were growing up, she will always ask my siblings and I what we want to be when we grow up. She was instrumental in helping my sister Luvy in deciding to take Food Technology at PWU (her alma mater, Phil Women's Univ). She was also happy when I got accepted at UPLB (UP at Los Banos) together with my brother Ron. She was also proud when my brother Robin enrolled in UST and entered the seminary and became a priest. He is now Father Robin Custodio that she got to watch online celebrate mass at Quiapo Church, Manila Phils. Ate Sol, we continue to pray that you are now at peace in the presence of our Lord and in the company of your departed parents, siblings, grandparents, cousins, aunts and uncles especially your Tito Gus and Auntie Gunding. On behalf of all your cousins, we say Thank You, We Love You and We Will Miss You.

I first met Tita/Ninang Solly via a long distance video call. When we spoke, I could say that she's a selfless, well-spoken, elegant, and modest person. My husband, Amir (her nephew), shared quite a lot of great things about her and from there, she became one of my inspirations. 

She had touched plenty of lives, including mine, through her unconditional love and generosity. Even without meeting me personally, she accepted me into their family and been spoiling us with presents. Tita/Ninang Solly was also our Ninang on our wedding day, I was so excited to finally meet her when we went home to the Philippines for the wedding but saddened by the news that she couldn’t make it as her Doctor advised it was not safe to travel back home.

Even when she was very ill, we spoke and chatted frequently thru Facebook messenger and she was always happy when I sent her photos/videos of our baby (her grandnephew), Antoine. She liked sharing memories of her and the whole family and Amir and I enjoyed her stories. I also got to know my husband more through her stories and I am grateful for that. 

We were always hopeful that we would personally see each other and finally meet. It might not be in this world Tita Sol, but someday, we can exchange kind words and a warm embrace. Despite all of this, we are assured that you are no longer enduring the pain of suffering. You fought a good fight, you have finished the race, you have kept the faith.

Thank you for all your kindness and words of wisdom. I will forever keep you in my heart and in my prayers. May God welcome you into heaven and embrace you in his loving arms. Tita Solly, may God grant you eternal peace.

I can say Solly was a dashing lady, dressed gracefully with humbleness and modesty. We were high school friends and until her last days. Solly and I were like sisters, fought argued, debated on matters but at the end we loved each other. I will miss her so much. May her soul rest in peace. To the family, our sincerest sympathy and condolences. Solly, no more pain so sleep tight. I will see you later. Love you with all my heart.

My dear Tita Sol played a role in each of our lives - a daughter, sister, cousin, aunt, godmother and a friend. She is beautiful inside and out. Giving, helpful, encouraging, loving, caring and kind are what defines her. 

I will miss you so much, Tita 😢💔 Thank you for being a blessing to all of us. You were always very affectionate, thoughtful and generous in your own special way. I will miss our chats, our video calls that would last hours. Despite the distance, you would always reach out and check how we are doing. I will miss how you would always spoil us with gifts and balikbayan boxes. Thank you for making us feel so loved and special. You have the biggest heart. 

The last few years have been tough. Prior the pandemic, you have been in the hospital and skilled nursing facility. It was heartbreaking when Lola passed last 2019, you were at the hospital and couldn’t be with us during her funeral. You were a fighter, Tita. It was a miracle when you were able to breathe on your own and can finally leave the nursing home last 2021. It happened unexpectedly. Your health became better. We were so happy and can’t thank God enough for answering our prayers. Prayers indeed move mountains. 

We got excited when you planned to visit us last 2022. We missed you so much and thought you can spend time with the family. We haven’t seen you since 2017. Unfortunately, your health started deteriorating again. It was depressing when a few days before your flight, your doctors advised you can no longer travel by air.

Just a month ago, you were back at the hospital. Your health was not getting any better. Few weeks before you left us, you were preparing to say goodbye. We were not ready and we’re hopeful that your condition will improve. We would video call almost everyday. You were strong, brave and have always been a fighter. You fought until the end. You're in God's arms now.

Tita Sol, I love you & miss you. May your beautiful soul rest in eternal peace, my dear Tita. 🙏🏻💗
